It's actually mad how popular country music is. I work with a young lad who is 28. He travels the length and breadth of Ireland following country singers!! No nightclubs, fancy bars or the like. Sawdust floors, checked shirts and diddly eye crap!! 28 years old.

    Seriously?

My teeth hurt. That's what half an hour of them being drilled into will do. I'd no anaesthetic either

I went to a proper(ish) cowboy bar in Houston a couple weeks ago. It was actually quite interesting - they really, really know what they were doing dancing along to it. You definitely couldn't rock up and freestyle it.

So for those of you wondering, I know you all were, the Grand Canal Square car park lets out directly onto Macken St. Someone posted a picture of it last week when I originally asked the question. This is despite the company that owns the car park telling me it let out at the front of the theatre and AA Roadwatch telling me it let out onto Misery Hill leading onto Macken St. I know nobody cares but I've never had so much trouble finding an answer to such a simple question.

Ulster is mad for that kind of thing. I go to family weddings and feel like I was adopted because I can't jive to Nathan Carter.

Yeah, I think so. It says Private Parking on the outside but it seems to be the exit for Grand Canal Square too.

I was looking at that today during my parking crisis and with the amount of traffic coming out reckoned that was it

    How was the ballet?

    How was the ballet?

I was just wondering the same.

What a civilised lot we have posting late at night compared to earlier posters coveting wives and revealing unusual fetishism

That said my oh is away so I'd KFC for dinner :pac:

On the topic of country music, that Jigs and Reels show on RTÉ on a Sunday is close to the cringiest thing I've ever seen. A few of them look like they've been let out for the day.
Maybe it's the city genes but Christ I have to turn it off when I see the adverts for it

    How was the ballet?

Was alright. Not to sound like an almighty snob but I've seen the Perm State Ballet, Kirov Ballet and Bolshoi Ballet touring companies over the years and they are all much better. That said, if you'd never been before it's still pretty impressive. There's a live orchestra with them so that's always great.

Do you mind me asking if it was expensive?

I think it was €60ish. Booked it a wile ago so can't quite remember. We go most years it comes, kind of a Christmas tradition. It's always packed too. People in full tux and furs sitting next to people in jeans and jumpers and there's always gangs of little girls with ballet buns and tutus on. I'd recommend it, great night out.

    Went to see Hamlet once.

It was Hamlet alright, but portrayed via ballet/opera and in Russian.

Hadn't a f*cking clue what was going on most of the time.

I'm glad you gave us the answer...I've been living on my nerves waiting for the answer to this!!

Seriously though kudos for rocking up to the ballet. A bit of culture in a man's life can't be beaten.

I don't know about that. Perhaps I just don't have the maturity levels required for it, but my missus was unimpressed with all comments I made about the testicles on show.

Does anyone know if the real Elmo is a boy or a girl?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,469 ✭✭✭kuang1

See what's happened here now, is that mods had a chance yesterday to nip this in the bud (butt), only for the sh1t to hit the fan (chest), and now we have this huge grey (brown) area.

    The ball(poop) was definitely dropped.

    I think it's a bit from column A and a bit from column B.

    Elmo is a Hermaphrodite.

who likes to poop on awec

By real Elmo do you mean the red seal puppet or the guy with his hand up the real seal puppet? If it's the latter it's this guy. kevin-clash-2-300.jpg

Serious question though, what happened to this thread? I left it the other day and it was people ****ting on Marvel movies. I came back this morning and it seems like it's turned into awec getting shat on and getting his jollies. This off topic has gone a little too far off topic.

I'm still waiting for the question!

I'm still waiting for the question!

I think it's a kind of "existential" question. He's wondering, if it was because he left that things literally went to shit and if perhaps he had stayed would we still be giving out about Ironman?
