Does the OnePlus One have Band 20? Thinking of updating to a Xiaomi but was worrying about that - now I see I've maybe never had it

    I'm assuming the OnePlus 3 does ?

Ok great thanks - I don't seem to have any problem getting 4g signal without it, never noticed it missing.

Yeah, you'll get band 3 1800MHZ 4G in bigger towns, just not the band 20 800MHZ mostly used for rural 4G

Any standard micro usb cable should work. If you're getting a new plug make sure its 2amps.

My OnePlus One has been giving me trouble the last couple of months turning on and off. Just on Thursday, the phone died. Only bought in May 2015. Has anyone had any experience getting the phone checked / repaired somewhere?

    ^ Interesting... thanks mate!
I'll try an update, and a factory reset if all else fails.

Did you try clearing the data on the app?
    Uninstall / reinstall?
    Clear cache?

All a little easier than updating the OS, surely :)

^ Literally only installed the app yesterday.. and hasn't worked for Live TV since installation.

Ah, that's a bit different then!
I had assumed that it had stopped working, rather than never worked :)

Maybe try updating the OS or something! :pac:

    You can do this:

Have you ever opened the Oneplus for a screen replacement etc? The volume and power buttons are very delicate, they just sit there on a tiny blob of weak adhesive, very easy to misalign them when you're putting it back together, pop it open and see if its had a knock or whatever. Most repair shops have no problem accepting OPOs these days if you dont feel like doing it yourself.

Well, balls.. updated to latest CM nightly (Android 7.1) and same thing. Frustrating!
EDIT: Flashed to stock CM13 (Android 6.0.1) and just installed app. Same issue. I'm admitting defeat here.

    Hi All,

Still using my oneplus one (stock) since day one.  A few random restarts is the only problem I have with the phone.   It would be nice if battery life was better.  Saw a good deal today on an LG V10.  Do you think it would be worth switching or should I hold out and save more for a 3T or even a Pixel?

I was considering upgrading from my OPO to OP3T due to a depleted battery life however after some googling I seen how easy and cheap it was to replace the battery.

Genuine battery cost me 13 euro delivered and going to switch it out tonight.

    Will report back!

Where are you getting the genuine one? I looked into it a while ago but didnt go through with it as my battery performance is still good, I forgot to charge the other night and made it home after a second day of work with 10% charge, thats better performance on a 3 year old phone than a lot of new phones. Its a very easy swap alright, pop the back off and unclip one cable.

What ROM are you running? I'm still on stock and wouldn't make it home after the first day of work with 10%. I've recently changed phones due to this reason but would happily change back if I could guarantee a full days battery. Really the best phone I've ever had

I got it on ebay, arrived today. On closer inspection it looks like a fake/clone.

I decided to go ahead and install it to see what the battery is like. Simple to replace the battery, took about 15 minutes. No broken clips or anything.

The OP3t would be a sensible upgrade though, I recently upgraded and I've found the charging power and battery life to be far superior to that of the OPO, even with a newly installed battery.

What I found with my OPO was that even when you're not using it, the battery life depletes quicker than you'd expect it to.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,353 ✭✭✭ErinGoBrath

Yep I'd love to upgrade to a op3t but hard to justify if I can get the battery life on my opo back up to a full day.

I'm heavy on the battery these days as I'm up at 6.30 to commute which includes 3 hours of teathering. Can't imagine that's too good on the battery!

I bought a battery pack and it's been great for time like commuting when you can be plugged in and arrive with 100% battery.

Exodus Rom set to go into battery saver when it drops below 30. I always rstrict the heaviest apps sleep/wake permissions and a lot of location services, apart from one or two Google services like Maps.

swapped the battery out last night it seems to be performing similar to my old battery. Will see how it goes after a few full charges / discharges

Next step is to factory reset the device as I've never done it. Might change to CM13 or Oxygen OS while Ive my data backed up
