I asked about a P45 on this thread recently as I started a new job, I provided it to my employer AND I called Revenue to provide my new employers PAYE registered number and it seems my tax has still been screwed up. This is quite inconvenient.

These days if you tell Revenue directly, then your employer should get your credits/cut-off almost immediately via P2C (on ROS). The employer then imports this to their payroll software.

So one of two things have happened:-

    1) Your employer didn't update your details properly or
    2) Revenue have kept put you on a Week 1 basis

If it's 1) then you should ask your employer why. If it's 2) then you should contact Revenue to find out why.

Does your payslip say 'Emergency', 'Cumulitive' or 'W1/M1'

Edit: It must have been crew only if they're saying the entrance is on Chimney View. Or else they've changed it since

I pre booked the parking and the confirmation email says entrance on Chimney View. It's so bloody confusing because there is another Q Park at the Marker, I think, so the people on Twitter were even getting confused by which one I was asking about.

Yeah, that's the entrance. It's the exit I'm confused about but sure getting in is the important part. There's so many one way systems over that way that I'd like to know where I'm coming out but it has to be on one of the 3 roads around the theatre so I'm sure it won't be that hard to figure out the way home.

It's a few weeks old but just watched the trailer for the Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Loved the first film. Might not have been the best film ever but had absolutely bucket loads of charm. It has a terrific up beat sound track which I've just listened through whilst finishing up work for the evening. Have a listen!:

Gave The Grand Tour a go. It's about 20 minutes too long and there is far too much emphasis on slow-mo shots of them drifting around the tracks. Hopefully it gets stronger because I got a bit bored.

First time I watched Guardian of the Galaxy I didn't really like it but watched it again a couple of weeks ago and thought it was brilliant plus has an ace soundtrack too.

GI thought GotG was a just the same old superhero clichés trotted out to an admittedly great soundtrack. Sad childhood introduction to hero, big evil revealed, pun, pun, set up to mid sized CGI explosions, heroes fall out, heroes make up, pun, pun, build up to massive CGI explosions, massive CGI explosions, brief set up for sequel, roll credits.

Also, the bad guy was called Ronan. I just found that too funny to take seriously.

    mmmm

I can see where you're coming from. But with these sorts of films they either win you over or they don't. The scene below just oozed class and most of the rest of the film kept it up. I thought it was uninterrupted great fun and the best thing about it is that it's actually genuinely PG, you can let younger kids watch large parts of this without worrying about permanent scarring.

I'm looking at you. Lion King.

^ Yeah, I just think with these super hero films if you've seen one you've seen them all. It wasn't the worst one I've ever seen, to be fair to it.

What got me more was that canon-wise Ronan isn't a ****ing bad guy.

But yeah, it does make it a bit hard to take seriously - which is GotG all over - it doesn't take itself seriously at all, and that's it's strength. I loved it.

I don't know that Ronan really exists as a name in the US or, you know, space, but I just found it hilarious. It's like calling him Dave or Frank.

Nothing at all, it's a perfectly lovely name, which is exactly why it would make a terrible name for a bad guy. Dave is your pal, Dave lends you a fiver to buy chips, Dave lends you his van when the shop you bought your new washing machine from won't deliver, Dave comes and helps you move the washing machine when you discover it feels like there's a f**king tonne of cement inside the basterding thing. Dave does not strike fear into anyone other than the server in McDonald's because he's a fussy eater and always has a very specific order that they have to make fresh.

Yeah I'm getting pretty fed up with most of the Marvel stuff at this stage. They were entertaining at the start but I couldn't give a damn about the Avengers now. How many times do they have to fall out, make s**t of everything and still come out as heroes?

I watched a couple of the DC films to see if they brought anything different to the table. They did. They weren't even entertaining to begin with.

GotG was as formulaic as anything else Marvel has done, but it struck exactly the right note. It didn't take itself seriously at all, cast the characters really well and had a great soundtrack. Now it might get as old as the Avengers as quickly, we'll only tell with time, but it's about the only one of those movies I'd have any interest in going to see at this stage.

I mean, has anyone been to see Dr Strange? Does anyone want to go to it?

Rogue One on the other hand.....

Haven't seen Doctor Strange but am looking forward to it. Personally I thought the recent Captain America Civil War was one of the best comic book films around. Not up there with batman begins or the dark knight but getting close.

Rogue One seems like a total production disaster with half the film being re shot. Should still turn out well but remember it's Disney making all of these franchises now and I expect there to be a certain element of overlap in terms of how these films present.

I watched Suicide Squad at the weekend. What an utter clusterf*ck of a movie. You can tell from the opening 5 minutes that it has been completely butchered in the editing room.

The opening scenes are of the authorities assembling the criminals. No preamble, just straight into the meeting that featured heavily in the trailer. The story just leaps forward at times without explanation.

Aside from the editing though....it's shiiiiiiit.

I'm beyond amazed that they managed to make a balls of that. It had all the ingredients for a fun action adventure and it turned out absolutely appallingly.

It's also the first time the character of the Joker has been completely miss handled. I think Jared Leto is a fine actor and I don't directly hold him responsible but they really got it wrong in pretty much every way.

It was a flat, scifi channel quality borefest that proves DC and Warner Brothers really don't know how to manage their franchises.

I thought Civil War was pretty crap tbh. Just more of the same. Iron Man goes rogue and does something that causes conflict between the characters and the bad guy capitalises on the fractured nature of the Avengers until they eventually realise that they need to come together to win the day. There was a "twist" to the ending but for the most part it was just a rinse and repeat job. How many times can they play on the interpersonal conflicts within the Avengers at this stage?

I'm hoping the reshoots for Rogue One were overstated. Every film has them and it just seemed to be this huge deal about this film that they even happened. It has a lot of potential to be a very enjoyable film in fairness.

Yep, SS was a complete disaster from start to finish and the Joker was just a colourful (literally) and overacted version of Tony Montana.

the reason for it being so **** is simple... WAYYYYY too much will smith in it, especially since the character he played was really boring.

Not enough diablo who i though was a much more interesting character

I read on aintitcool.com that 40% of the film was reshot entirely and substantial plot elements were changed. Basically they made the film, weren't happy with the end product and effectively re made the movie including a substantial re write of the script.

I think they screened the earlier version and it was luke warm so they went again. It's an important franchise for them needless to say so I don't think there will be any risks taken with the IP.

    Certainly true.

Also, the default in any scene was for a loud noises, tough talk and then Margot Robbie makes a cutesie/psychotic quip whilst fluttering her eyelashes even when it was completely out of sync with what was going on.

It was a film that had so much potential. Apparently the original idea was to have a dark, gritty film which I think would have suited the characters and story. However, the studio then decided to go in a completely different direction and ordered re-writes and re-shoots to splice in more humour and a lighter tone into proceedings. I can only assume this idea was concocted sometime after the first trailer was released given it was very dark in its tone relative to the second and third.

The end product is a jumbled up shambles.

Ah there was way more wrong with that film than Will Smith. The rush to get stuck into the story, the utter lack of anything like a coherent plot despite the rush to get into it, Viola Davis' character (I put them in a hole and threw away the hole - really!?),
the paper thin villain character, the heroes who were villains who were really just badly written anti-heroes who were misunderstood, the Joker, Batman working with the real villian (Viola Davis) who murders people at will and without consequence, the Joker, the bland and almost literally non-existent (and literally faceless) bad guy army, the lack of explaining where the hell that Diablo thing came from before it promptly disappearing (it was convenient though), the Joker, the fact that the Joker was somehow an evil mastermind who had an army of followers and could break into anywhere and every where (even the hole within the hole) with complete ease but without any explanation, the editing, the Joker, Harley Quins massively out of character "I just want to settle down and have a normal family with the Joker" scene, Boomerangs teddy bear...........

In fairness there are no plot spoilers in there. I'll hide it anyway just in case though.....
