yes and Trump and Brexit are their dying kick , neither of which , will fix their perceived problems ( which is fundamentally , that no-one needs theirs skills )

    Perceived ???
Yep being unemployed, seeing the local industry that employed you and your forefathers disappear with no replacement is a perceived fooking problem.

What was I saying again about superiority complexes ?

The rust belt is full of unemployment blackspots which were former industrial powerhouses.
What hope have the political establishment or the last few presidents offered them?

What do you suggest they do seeing that no one needs their skills ?

Oh let me guess it is the old tried and trusted cliche of upskilling and further education.

Why the fook haven't they thought of that.
Of course they are just stupid thicko probably racist rednecks.
Those 40 something year old coal minders should all be becoming IT support multi linguists that will now compete with all those young European or Indian workers.
And I guess those ex car plant workers should be designers for Apple or scientists for Tesla
I can understand why people are happy to see Trump as president, it represents a kick to the establishment but thats not what happened here. Trump is no man of the people, this is hardly a kick to the elite. Trump is billionaire, he is part of the elite. I wouldn't have taken much joy from Hilary being elected president, but equally i'm not naive enough to think of Trump as some kind of hero tearing down the establishment. He is a bigot, a racist a sexist and a bit of an ego maniac. Not exactly the kind of person you want tearing down the establishment....not that that will happen. In all reality very little will change. The anti Establishment vote would have been a vote for one of the other candidates other than Hillary or Trump

He is not and never has been part of the political establishment or political elite.

He has had various different party affiliations over the years and once dipped his toe in the presidential campaign as candidate for the Reform party.
On the other hand Clinton was working on election campaigns in the 60s.
She helped get her hubby elected governor of Arkansas.
While he was governor she was appointed to various political appointed positions such as chair of health and education committees.

She helped get her hubby elected president.
She was very much involved in the running of his administrations and probably one of the most influential first ladies outside of Eleanor Roosevelt.

She was elected Senator in 2000.
She ran for president in 2008, but missed out on nomination to Obama.
She was Secretary of State in first Obama administration.

So please who is and isn't part of the political elite or political establishment.

I am not allowed discuss …

I will be interested to see if your mystical, future seeing abilities actually work. Your prediction of Hillary having six million people killed in her first year if she got elected seemed rational. Christ, are you allowed to vote in Ireland? If you are, you shouldn't. You shouldn't be allowed access to cutlery based on the ****3 you're spewing this morning.

Any horse tips for me, while the spirits are communing with you?

Don't think the same as me? You shouldn't be allowed vote! Well done mate.

A mass murderer dictator who started the worst war of all time? Get real.
Who started off telling people he'd make their country great again? That used specific groups as scapegoats? Blaming the "elites" for not taking care of the little people?

Yeah, the two are nothing alike.

I think he may well end up being a bit of a Ronald Reagan type of president. Not a completely good thing by any means but equally not a disaster.

Reagan is remembered very fondly in the eyes of America.

While I don't necessarily agree that Trump is likely to be the second coming of Hitler, you understand that mass murdering dictators don't get into power on a platform of mass murdering dictatorship? They tend to say other things, to which one might draw parallels, which is what that poster is pointing out.

I suppose there'll be a mad scramble now to find Trump's Irish ancestors, if any, and where they're from. ;)

Hope he is not related to us in anyway. This is a terrible result. They have voted in a nasty, ignorant, sexist, racist, discriminatery man who has no problem making fun of people with disabilities and thinks of women as sex objects. Makes my stomach sick thinking he is now going to be president of America.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

I welcome anyone thinking differently than me voting if they can demonstrate a modicum of intelligence. Burial seems to think he can see the future and in it he saw Hillary killing six million people. He's a few cards short. He in my opinion, should not be permitted to vote as if he truly believes his own bullsh1t he is either mentally ill, delusional or at best, stupid. There was context to my statement.

As mentioned earlier, Trump is a pragmatist and devoid of any ideology whatsoever just like politicians in this country.

I am not seeing the end of the world. It's just the fear of the unknowns and the unknown unknowns.

Relax with the hysteria. I never mentioned the word in bold. You have twice. Take a look at yourself before projecting onto myself.

Ha. Just yesterday weren't you saying 'The anger is genuinely soothing'

    Is it soothing now?

LOL! Am I reading this right? Hitler wrote a fking book about wanting to exterminate the Jewish race from Europe. European Jewry as he called it. Hitler made VERY clear his views on what he would do.

That might be too difficult an argument for some people on here to acknowledge.

I'm thinking from a purely selfish point of view that our media and Taoiseach should start being nice, we need him way more than he needs us. Everyone from Enda saying he is racist and dangerous, the Irish Times, calling him a misogynistic racist liar these are not things to be calling the President of the USA whether it's true or not, be smart people!

I haven't stated that I'm pro-either candidate so no. I was unfriended for being partly pro brexit on some points, though.

Has Obama responded to the result yet?

Getting his tea and cake ready for when Trump rocks up to white house.
That will be an awkward hand over.

And now the insults start. I've noticed the whole campaign that Trump supporters insulted Clinton, but Clinton supporters insulted Trump supporters.
You don't get to decide who gets to vote. which is a good thing because you like all regressive liberals, like to ban any opinion different to your own.

It's beyond me how anyone could think a racist, misogynistic, homophobic bigot would be a good choice for president.

It's like Brexit all over again.....America what were you thinking!

I've watched many many Trump rallies, he talks sense.
Keeps it simple, it's not complicated at all.
    World is too PC
Look at Europe, opening its door to millions of illegals
Let them flood in to rape and kill and we will pay to keep them
''WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON ''

I can't help thinking about this song.

"Nellie the elephant packed her trunk
and said goodbye to the circus
off she went with a trumpety-trump
    trump, trump, trump."

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

Um, yes I can, because I am in that demographic and my peers are in that demographic. Whatever Clinton's presumptions were are unimportant to this particular part of the discussion. If you think that young women feel that they are being represented in the wider professional and political field you are dead wrong. In fact, it's one of the main complaints I hear from women my age.

Well, if a person is ignorant enough to vote for someone simply to vote against someone then yeah, they're a person who needs a lot of guidance. Sorry if that's not charming enough for you.

Europe has been a blood bath past 14 months.
So many innocent lives lost, lost because we don't want to upset the snakes amongst us.
Don't want to hurt their feeling, we will let them slaughter us though.
All those terrorists were know to intelligence agencies , but we had to leave them act first.
