Just in case any of the PS guys haven't done it I would change your login access to the two step verification process

Account Management> Account Information> Security> 2-Step Verification.

4-5 people have been hacked on the PS forum in the past few weeks (another yesterday). I hadn't bothered 'cos I reckoned the internet was fairly safe and y'know the hassle but it's actually very straightforward.

What's the difference with 2 -step? You add your mobile number and enter a PIN that's texted to you?

First time you login after setting it up on your PS you'll get a verification code sent to you phone, put the code into the PS when prompted and that's it. Next time you login on that PS/device you login as normal.

If you login on another device (I accessed my Bungie account on the laptop via PSN) you will again get a code sent to your phone. So I assume every time you login from a different device you have to go through the 2 step process. It significantly increases your protection against phishing type hacking attempts.

Can you still use the destiny item managers (Ishtar commander etc.) when you have 2FA enabled?

I don't use any of those apps but can't see why not. You can certainly use the Destiny Item Manager from Bungie.

The verification process is only to access your PSN account and a one-off time thing the first time you login on a device, once you're in you're in and everything is the same as before.

You can indeed. When your randomly logged out of DiM or Ishtar, you'll need the 2-step, but the extra 20 seconds is worth a secure account. Mine was kinda hacked, which is why I have it.

Results of my hack are I can't remote with my Vita over work Wiffy. Everything is set to remote connect as it was before, but it won't let me.

Is that because your PS4 is not setup as your primary ps4?

It is. It'll connect fine over my own WiFi, just issues with external WiFi. I have had a message pop saying it con't connect due to some incompatible app on the system. Confused.com here

That only happens when I'm in work and its because our proxy doesnt allow any of the PSN ports but if I was on someones house wifi it works no problem.

The vita connects fine to the wifi and has remoted to the console before. Just ever since I noticed the console wasnt activated has the issue arisen.

Its a bit odd, I would remove the pairing between them and try again and see if it works.

Have 3 of them. I went with just buying Amazon firestick and fire TV. The Android box I bought off entertainment something didn't work and put me off.

Great bit of kit, the wife loves it too - box sets for years.

I'd use the box for most TV watching. Quality is excellent most of the time. Still have virgin, which is used when there isn't something specific we want to watch.

Sports can be a bit of a mess on them though, or at least that's what I have found. On the free add-ons live TV isn't great. Ive paid for an addon which gives me all that channels I want in great quality (20 a month) but have had a couple of occasions where the service just hasn't worked.

If you get it set up right, and get the right add-ons for what you want it's a great bit if kit.

Will probably get Amazon Fire stick/TV on a deal on Amazon on black Friday. That's when I got mine.

I'd recommend them.

I have 3 codes, for those that are interested, to the Steep open beta (Ends Monday Nov 14th). I haven't had a chance to try it out yet myself as t'internet has gone dun broke.
