Oh and just for anyone on the fence No Man's Sky is currently down to 34.99 in argos

I hear the recent update addresses a lot of the issues the game had at launch. I traded it in a few weeks ago. Thought it was a decent enough game despite all the drama and hysteria surrounding it.

There's a lot of hate out there for the game though.

The game, from the get go, did pretty much what the developers said it would do. The hate is borne from the hype, hysteria and drama created by the community when it decided that NMS was the game to end all games.

Hello Games tried many times to stymie the hype that was generated, but it got to such a level that it was nigh on impossible.

Did HG oversell the game somewhat with their (Tech) demo's? They did.

Did they fail to inform the community that the 6 quadrillion planets and countless fauna and flora would all be derived from a limited selection wheel? Yes, though that part should NOT have been a surprise.

If you take the game for what it is at its heart, which is a space exploration game (which is what HG sold it as from the get go), and ignore the Atlas path and just go explore, you will not be too disappointed.

It seems to be one of those games that really ignites the crazy in both people who liked it and people who hated it.

The father in law worked with a fella years back who rented bikes from a bike shop - gave them to the kids as their Santa present, and then returned them "to the north pole" when the kids didn't behave.

I get ALL my amazon orders delivered to ParcelMotel up north - I have prime too so I get free next day delivery (which is next day, not next year like it is to the ol' Republic) and then a few euros for Parcel motel to get it down to me the day after.

Season 3 of Competitive Overwatch has started, so if anyone Level 25+ wants to group up for some Competitive Placement matches, let's do it! You do 10 matches and it will grade you bronze/silver/gold/platinum/master etc

Not particularly long, you'd get it done over the weekend if you play a good bit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,870 ✭✭✭✭Generic Dreadhead

Yeah, maybe like 2 sittings. If you stayed at it and didn't get kicked out of the lobby too much.

How does Titanfall 2 compare to Destiny in terms of FUN?
I don't want to play Battlefield or CoD cause I don't find them FUN.
If TF2 is FUN, i'd consider it

    It's a lot faster A LOT faster

I haven't really gotten into it tbh as I'm just stuck into BF1 and actually started playing TLOU last weekend again after seeing the trailer for TLOU2.

I'd say you'd need to put a bit of time into it to get something out of TF2. I'd imagine you'd be getting slaughtered by children with the reflexes of bionic cats at the beginning. Wall hopping nonsense.

The single player campaign is great fun. If you can pick it up cheap (heard of it being sold for 20) it's worth it for the play through. Not touched pvp, I reckon I don't have the creativity or reactions to keep up with the wall running invisible little kids.

It's faster than Destiny yes, but I'd say it's slower than CoD. The wall running is a thing, but it doesn't last as long as it does in CoD. To me, it's a game you can pick up and play at your leisure. Yes, you need to unlock weapons as your progress, but it doesn't feel as bad as the CoD method. The majority of stuff you unlock as you rank up (Weapon, Titan, Player, Faction) are cosmetics. The faction is purely cosmetic from what I can tell, makes no real difference to gameplay.

I believe it will appear in the PS 12 days of Christmas sale this Sunday.

It's fast paced but not crazy and the maps are pretty large so you still get plenty of breathing space, it's actually surprisingly easy to pick up and play. It was also mentioned in the PS bargins thread that it would appear in the 12 days sales.
