They're not going on strike over supervision, Joe. Schools are free to provide parental supervision and the school will remain open.

The strike is a different process.

A bored joe glances at the rolex, takes a break and throws on the blazer.

You are a khaki coloured bombardier, it's Hiroshima that you're nearing.

The driver is warming up the Jag, making sure the rear heater is warm enough to not crush the velour of the waistcoat.

this girl is going to get an awful shock when she realises that no one gives a feck about the leaving cert after she finishes school

That's not the point. The leaving cert is the entry point to uni. You don't get your points you don't get the course you want.

As the parent of a sixth year I am furious with these teachers. Lazy shower of feckers. 33 hours per YEAR free work? I probably do 33 hours per month overtime that I don't get paid.

They wouldn't know a real job if it jumped up and bit them

Difficult dyelemma for Joe today and tomorrow....how does he hop on the rugby bandwagon when he's previously called members of de team thugs so to speak? And which of his pals will be deigned Rugby Coddlespondent? Posh Boy Boucher Hayes (the full time host of de show) may be wheeled out tomorrow for the latest bandwagon hopping exercise. I hope they make anudder wunderful, fantastic musical tribute like de "row row row your boat" tribute we had during de Olympics so to speak........

Joe has zero interest in sport. It's always cringeworthy listening to him trying to mount a bandwagon.

Wonder will it go down as a top 10 "highlight of the year" in December. Can't be as bad as 2011 when Dublin winning the All Ireland went down as a highlight when any other year the winning county isn't worth a mention.

I still laugh at that picture. He made it clear he wasn't happy at being portrayed as a member of the working class (irony is strong here). He also didn't show up with the others in that photo op when they were on the LLS.

Nevertheless he made amends on Easter Monday when he appeared on O'Connell St in his 3-piece suit and straw boater of the upper middle class, a place where he feels far more comfortable. It's easier to pay lip service to something and talk the talk rather than actually walking the walk like so many others.

The fact that he's completely oblivious as to how the actual upper class look down on him always makes me laugh. He may be rich, but he will never be upper class.

Me Weekly Column, by me, Joe Duffy so to speak.

After de cummotion and de consternation and dat after a rival paper did try and steal me wurk last week, I'm back dis week so to speak. I did turned up for de part-time job in RTE for 2 weeks in a row now so I'll be due a little breakeen soon but I suppose wan a dem weeks was a Bank Holiday and dat so I can't really complain, but I will anyway says I.

Well as I promised de faithful I had nuttin' but death for 2 weeks now, includin' a Funny Fryday death special. It wasn't about death pacifically but most of de jokes had coffins in dem and dat and most of de audience were on death's door so to speak. Wan day somewan will dye at a Funny Fryday and den all me dreams will have cum true and dat so to speak. I got to wear the beweriful red velour waistcoat and dickie bow ensemble again - it makes me luke and feel terribully posh so it does and dat. Yer clothes do say a lot about de man so to speak, and mine clearly say style and sofistimtication ellygants poshness and dat.

I got a new idea for a weekly daily segment on de show after tree mudders came on de show dis week ta tell us about dare chislers dat did doyed before dem and dat. I couldn't get a wurd in sideways as I was busy havin' de cake and dat but day were tryin' ta outdo each udder wit de misery and dat so to speak. It made for great radio says I. So I was sayin' ta ta teem a producers and dat dat we shood make it a proper competition and dat and have a telly pole on who's is de bestest death. De prize for de goriest, saddest, most miserable death and dat is yer choice a wan a me bukes. Dis new intern axed a question abour it maybe being a little insensitive. Dare was silence in de room and everywan luked at de floor and dat. I don't tink we'll be seeing dem again so to speak. Insensitive? Me? How can I be insensitive wen I love de tears like I do?

So as yisser all know by now dare really is no end ta me talents, so dis week I decided ta become a rapper and dat like de M&M fella. We have a lot in common - he's white and from de hood and super rich and we boat know de same number of de wurds and dat. So I made me own wurds a wan a his songs and dat. So dis is de new version of "Without Me", by me, Joe Duffy so to speak. I'm going to play it for de first show after I come back off any a me little breakeens, so it'll be on at least 40 times a year so to speak.

Two chislers dat did doyed go round de outside, round de outside
    Guess who's back, back again
    Duffy's back, tell a friend
    Guess who's fat?
    Guess who's fat?

    Guess who's fat?
    Guess who's fat?
    Guess who's fat?
    Guess who's fat?

I've created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to
Hear Marion no mo they want Duffy de care giver
well if you want Duffy, this is what I'll give ya

a ****load of fees mixed with some strong vigour
some coddle that'll clog your heart quicker than an
ad break or a bad line when you dare to question

The Court of Duffy when it’s in session
You waited this long now stop debating

'cause I'm back, I'm on the job, pontificating
I know that you got a job Ms. Hickey but your husband's unwellness is complicating
So de RTE just let me be, all in return for me crazy fees
I get me degree from TCD, and me favorite ting is misery

Now dis looks like a job for me, especially as I’ve no dignity
Make sure to pay your licence fee
‘cos a big part of it goes ta me

Now don’t youz try ta put me ta de test,
I’ll have me best mate Brindin on as a guest,
If you don’t like his jokes den you're just a snob,
He says tits, bollox, arse, willy and knob,

Me show is vast, but it’s a safe bet
I’ll cover misery, disease, suicide and death,
Wen de summer comes I spend me days on de beach

I just settled all my lawsuits, **** you Leech!

Now dis looks like a job for me, especially as I’ve no dignity
I’ll exploit your tale of misery
I‘ll do anyting once I get me fee

Little chislers dat woz feelin’ rebellious
I wrote dare buke for fees now don’t be jealous
Like all Fianna Failers I’m a ****in’ chancer

Me next buke’ll be about kids wit cancer

    A tisk-it a task-it, I'll go tit for tat with
    anybody who's talking dis ****, dat ****.
Seamus Treanor you can get your ass kicked
worse dan dem little Ire-Riggy bastards,
O’Curry you can get stomped by Yewy,

he’ll bate your fat head black and bluey

You don't know me, you're too old let go it's over,

    nobody listens to Gaybo
Now let's go, just give me the signal

I'll be there with a whole list full of new insults
Like dat little runt Darcy wood fit into a thimble

But to the general public it just seems,
day all tink I protect the weak
I couldn’t give a toss, so to speak
Though I'm not the first king of controversy
I am the worst thing since dat prlck Bertie,

to screw de country so selfishly
and use it to get myself wealthy

    (Hey)
    there's a concept that works

Half a million in fees for 40 weeks work
But no matter how many fish in the sea
There really is no fat prlck just like me

Now dis looks like a job for me, especially as I’ve no dignity
Did I mention I went to TCD?
I‘ll do anyting once I get me fee

'til next week, keep de faith and dat.

A New York tour guide visiting Dublin last week, she saw 3 different assaults.
Nursing homes, should de elders be allowed go home if they want?

No mention of de rug bee.
