I'll be much cheaper as I'll charge in Euro... oh wait...

Just got Thumper this evening too... It's pretty brilliant. Did the first 2 levels in VR and now I feel like I just got back from another planet.

So my SNES doesn't work with my Framemeister :( I'm hoping it's the cable so I've ordered one of the powered ones to see if that helps. I can still play Famicom games on it but there's only so much magic the framemeister can work on ****ty AV composite.

So the powered cable actually arrived today. Worked a charm so that one is sorted. Also came with an English framemeister remote overlay as a bonus which might just be more useful :)

Speaking of Nintendo, I picked up a very cheap Pebble Time yesterday to replace my ailing Pebble Classic and it has a nice little notification option. The watch has no speaker, so it vibrates instead, and amongst the variety of those it has the Super Mario Bros opening.

Speaking of halloween costumes - is there any bricks & mortar in town that sells decent ones would anyone know? Scary ones not game related I mean.

Might be no good but Guineys had them for 5 a few weeks back that you might modify to make scarier? If you think of something and can't find I'll look here too. Do you need tutorials on face painting or anything?
I got one yesterday, I wanted to do an old fashion style nurse with the blue cape (like this https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/5a/66/e0/5a66e08530575527dec4bc9a803e4b71.jpg) but might just do a witch. I dunno what I'm in the humour for and the only thing I have on is the beers and Halloween night.

If you have a projector of some sort, even a low res one it can open a lot of possibilities for halloween night. I do it every year now, sometimes just fun scary, sometimes proper weird sh1t projected onto the windows of the house from inside (sheet over windows works well).

    Edit:
    This type of thing:

Great stuff but if you think of anything I can bring it up that night.

Swery has retired from Access games :(

Had a feeling it would happen with his bad health and becoming a Buddhist monk and not being involved in games.

Guess D4 episode 2 won't be happening any time soon :(

Emulation box, I can only assume. I'd kill for something like that if it was FPGA powered, though.

It has no HDMI out, so better just buy a Megadrive, mod it, add a RGB cable and off you go.
Invest in an Everdrive later if you like.

So the Wii U is stopping production this month, does that make it retro ?

Sad fate for a wonderful console. It's painful to see the comments over on Eurogamer. The same fallacy being thrown around that Nintendo just pump out the same crap over and over when the majority of the time each iteration is a completely different game just with a familiar face to sell it.

Gamers really are the worst kind of morons :(

Which is odd, because within the Nintendo fandom bubble, more negative reactions tend to argue that Nintendo fiddles around with too much.

I prefer when Nintendo change things up. Weird Nintendo gave us Canvas Curse, Warioware, Splatoon, Majora's Mask Rusty's Real Deal Baseball and... Tingle!

So if you look to your left-field, you'll notice a Daytona USA sequel barreling through.
You read that right, Daytona is back and just as it was first time around in the 90s, it’s set to be a game changer. Daytona USA is the pinnacle of arcade racing and now Sega is ready to bring its #1 racer screeching into the 21st century!

It revolutionised the arcade scene when it was first launched in 1994, and this franchise can deservedly lay claim to bold statements such as iconic, classic and legendary.

This brand new version, Daytona 3 Championship USA, features three brand new tracks including a recreation of the newly renovated Daytona International Speedway. In addition, the original three classic courses have been remastered for the modern era. New cars and new game modes bring more for players old and new to experience.

Sega has gone all out on a cabinet design to do this global brand justice and make it stand out from the pack. The cabinet with 47” LED monitor is linkable for up to eight players and lit from top to bottom. It even has a moulded under seat engine! New game features include a live in-game camera system so you can enjoy maximum bragging rights as you overtake your friends! Also brand new to Daytona 3 is the ‘Live TV’ inspired spectator video billboard marquee with 27” display. This allows spectators to see what’s happening in the race, whether it’s a crash, a pass for position or to find out who’s winning or losing!

Not gonna argue, bought the original on PSN last year and it's been my most played game outside of The Binding of Isaac.

If it doesn't scream "DAYTOOONAAAA" at me then I don't want to know about it tbh.

Yep, Nintendo tend of innovate a lot more on the gameplay whereas Sony & MS are focused on brute forced pixel pushers.

I wonder what hardware Daytona 3 is going to run on, and I look forward to the inevitable console port announcement.

I would dearly love a Sega Racing Megamix title, never going to happen though :(
Something bringing the racing game heritage into one big mental perhaps even open world title, imagine a Test Drive Ultimate style open world, with a road network laid out with all of the Sega tracks, on road and off, from big games like Daytona, Outrun and Sega Rally, to the less epic Scud Race.
If only we still had a Sega Forum, to champion such an idea....

They say there's only 3 real tragedies in Irish history. The famine, electing Bertie ahearn and the closing of the Sega forum

Excited to see this new Daytona. I'd really like to see Sega become the powerhouse they once were. To go from beating Nintendo for a time in the console wars to what they are now should really be a case study on bad business decisions

    Daytona 3?

    Sega forum reopens in 5,4,3...

Imagine, soon you'll be able to go to Smithfield, throw some coinage away in a proper arcade and then stroll up to O Connell Street for some Daytona in Dr Quirkeys.

Break out your stonewash denim and tie dye shirts, the best decade of all time is back.

Yep. Haven't had time to go too far with it. But it's utterly charming and plays really well.
