He was supposed to go up for a shot at RDA, but then RDA got injured and he fought Diaz to save the card. Fair enough. Then he got beat and wanted a rematch. Fair enough. Now he's back to the original plan of two belts. Fair enough. If his next fight isn't at 145 to defend it then he's no longer champion imho. He won it fair and square, so he WAS/IS champion but to STAY champion you have to defend it, if he doesn't defend it as soon as there is a clear contender (and as his next fight), then he forfeits imho.

Don't know about all those "fair enoughs"

After the Diaz loss, he should have gone back to defend at 145 or drop the belt and fight Diaz a second time.

well he didnt, he fought and beat diaz and he hasnt yet defended the 145 belt yet. at 205 he will fight for the 155 belt and if he wins he will be the first simultaneous two-division champion. these are facts, and people still arguing otherwise is getting progressively sillier

Eddie has no plans on standing and trading for any of the 25 minute,If he was trying to take down RDA (fantastic bjj player) then hes 100% coming in to try grapple,I'll be pleasantly surprised if he stands for any prolonged amount of time.

I agree. Not looking forward to the constant bull talk. Registered in Oct = banned from Conor thread. It would save alot of head wrecking

that or a soccer style access request, know its probably a lot of work but it would probably deter a good few of the morons we get passing by

Khabib's father says that the UFC used Alvarez and Khabib as leverage to lower McGregor's asking price. McGregor's fee went from 7 million to only 3.5 million.

This also ties in with McGregor taking potshots off of Alvarez for negotiating a poor contract for this fight which in turn lowered McGregor's fee (I would imagine).

i wouldnt put much pass on ''khabibs father'' with the sh!t khabib has been coming out with lately, awful lot of bitterness coming from that camp

Well they thought that they had the fight, were sent two different contracts. So I'd be annoyed too

they have every right to be annoyed but that doesnt add legitimacy to an ''details'' theyre putting out, fail to see a situation where khabibs father of all people have access to the niceties of mcgregors bout agreement

In New York does the fighters pay have to be disclosed like in Vegas?

dont know that actually! I'd assume so it seems to be the way its usually done with most athletic commissions over there, wont be out till after the fight though either way

This will be his 3rd fight outside his division. Using fighters that were inactive just isn't going to work.

Using fighters who were unactive due to injury is the only way you can push your agenda.

I wasn't using an injured fighter. I used Anderson Silva.

Who was inactive in the MW division, while fighting in the LHW division for a year, on two occasions.
I asked if he ceased to be MW champ in your eyes, and failed to answer the question. Speaks volumes.

I think Dillon is a really good addition to Conor's camp. I'd love to see him head fcuk Alvarez and take him down and roll like a boss to win by sub.

I'm thinking about backing Conor win by sub for the last month. I think he'll drop Alvarez like he did with Diaz and then jump into his guard, unlike the Diaz fight.

Training with new people is always a risk but this one worked out brilliantly.

When Conor was doing some training with Rory MacDonald he re-injured his leg, probably from going too hard at it with Rory. When he sparred with Chris van Heerden it blew up in his face a little bit with the other fella wanting his 15 minutes of fame.

Dillon has been brilliant. I was hoping he'd have got to roll with Gunni a bit in this camp, you could charge money to watch that.

Well the Van Heerden fella had a point. McGregor was releasing footage to make it look like he was beating Heerden up.

Van Heerden just wanted it known that that wasn't the case.

He has put a bit of a spotlight on bjj too. I'd say him and john work really good together and what they don't know isn't wort knowing. His work really came to light with Conor's take down defence in the 2nd Nate fight.

I'm going for Conor by rear naked choke in the 2nd for the laugh.

Did he actually expect Conor to show footage where Van Heerden caught him with good shots? Give all his UFC competitors footage of setups to hit Conor cleanly with?

The point he missed is this was not about him.

Dillon hasn't once come out and moaned about the footage of them rolling together or sparring. Why? Because a) he's a good friend trying to help Conor and b) he's not insecure enough to worry how he looks.

Can you imagine if Dillon released footage of him tapping Conor in training to prove he's better at jiujitsu? That's effectively what Van Heerden did.

A training partner is there to be selfless.

That's exactly why there was a trial process when Makwan came to the gym. It's not just about talent, it's about fitting in with the group and trusting each other.

To counter that, it seems like McGregor and Danis are close but the Heerden McGregor relationship was personal.

Also Van Heerden was getting tweeted lots of abuse or mockery if I recall correctly but I don't think that has happened to Danis.

I was going to add something to the Conor by Sub discussion. But first I wanted to check if anybody had knew if any bookies was taking bets on the type of submission yet?

He got tweeted a lot of mockery after he came out moaning that the footage misrepresented his ability as a boxer. He then went on every tv and radio show possible to talk about sparring with Conor and to say "he'd have no chance against any good boxers".

I found the whole thing distasteful. It was just sparring. He was there to help Conor not to stir the pot.

Look at Conor Wallace. He never once came out moaning about the training footage. Why? Because he's a good skin and was there to HELP Conor, not worry about how he looked in the footage.

It's 13/1 for McGregor to win by submission (not specified). Nowhere (yet) has anything up for specifics.

Are you leaning towards a guillotine from clinch?

Slightly better Maclife video. Always nice to see JK rolling with McGregor. Also McGregor breathing heavy and gulping water will be sure to bring in a few cardio related jokes.

Don't know how long ago this was filmed but Conor looks in phenomenal shape.

16/1 here and submission types available.

I was hoping to combine McGregor Round 1 with a Triangle for a cheeky 1 pound but it wouldn't let me combine those two. :(

Wow. So because I think its wrong that Conor hasn't defended or dropped his belt while having 3 fights outside the division, I should be banned from the forum? You guys are very sensitive. I'm here to stay

Great to see a bit of footage of John grappling with Conor. Also brilliant seeing how sharp Paddy Holohan is looking rolling with Lee Hammond, slick little haircut!!

I hope John does the open workouts again next week, don't tempt fate changing it up!

Glad I'm not the only one that let the thought of conor winning by submission enter my head. Cant back it up. It's just a gut feeling.

Berimbolo with a slick transition into a kimura. Probably about 10,000/1 lol.

To be honest the smart money is on him leveling Alvarez with a left hand but for the many geeks on here, like myself, a submission would be amazing to see.
