Are you running CM or stock I've seen it reported when running CM13 but never had it myself on the same ROM

Thankfully no battery issues for me as yet. I charged it to 100% yesterday at 3pm, and just had to put it on charge an hour ago [5pm next day] it was at 19%. I was testing the cameras for stills and video, messing about with various apps, watched a fair bit of youtube and had the phone hooked up to a stereo running Spotify though it in that time. battery life seems really great from that 4000mah cell

Can you PM me a link to buy it please if you don't mind?

Any of the owners find any issues with it yet?
It's pretty cheap already, but should I hold out til Jan for a possible sale / returns getting refurbished?

How does this compare to the oneplus x, nexus 5x, and moto g4 plus? Looking to get my gf a sub €300 phone for xmas but I can get something else too if I opt for one of these. Any recommendations would be really helpful :)

Thats the feeling I'm getting from round here but I just wanted to check. Seems like it'd be mad not to buy this instead of the competitors at €250-300..

Is there another phone that I should be comparing this to in terms of specs?

This is why xiaomi are the apple of the east lol.well I'm using a 5s and for the 150 I'm getting better cpu.battery. bigger phone and better memory and more I'd say If I looked at the specs of both side by side.amd my 5s is worth about 200 maybe more 2nd hand.its a win win really

I've had one for a few months now. Bought from Top One on Aliexpress, came set-up with google apps installed - good for a technophobe like me. Was able to use it straight out of the box. It's my first "Chinese" (read cheap!) phone and also my first Android having been using Apple for many years. I'm really happy with it and have had no issues, great battery life, decent camera, I use google maps quite a bit and no issues there either. Would (and have) definitely recommend - in fact a few of my friends/family have also taken the plunge.
Only downside for me was no 4g coverage with Eir mobile (I had switched to SIM only package for €20/month) so had to switch back to Vodafone purely for the better coverage - Eir is pretty sh1t in my part of the universe.

    Where did you order from?

Check your MIUI version, possibly a vendor rom.

settings - about phone - MIUI Version.

Thanks, I had already flashed to the official rom from http://en.miui.com/download.html so I cant say. going by what your link says, at least it took the rom without problems eh?

All looks ok with no trace of ads.

What are people's thoughts on the camera? After using it a bit more now, I think it sucks baws, but then I may be a bit spoiled in that regard. As a photographer who uses a full frame dslr with insane IQ, any phone cam is going to seem 'meh' BUT i never directly compare, I know the limits a tiny sensor has. I had the S6 for a while though, and loved the camera on there. Very good for a mobile phone cam, probably one of the best. The Redmi note 3 pro's camera just fails in some ways. In anything but very good lighting conditions the images are mucky, soft, washed out. It's a shame, would be the ideal overall phone for the money otherwise. No other major complaints.

You simply get what you pay for, simple as that. Look at the price of the mi note then look at the price for the s7, truth be told all sammy have now is how good they can take a pic but that won't last forever.

In so many phones out there the sensors are mostly the same, Sony's, it's amazing to see such different results from the same sensors on different phones. (not in sammy's case however) and what phones do is optimise and post-process the hell out of the pics to make it 'look' pleasing to the viewer is the secret sauce they all want. It's less about it 'being' a good pic and more about software making it 'look' better/pleasing to the end user... and this is where most other phones fall down as they just provide the sensors and leave it up to the user to fix... and we call them crap. Granted you get better sensors and optics you get better pics but it mostly comes down to software fooling us all.

Not always the case. Phones in a similar price bracket, like the lenovo K5 note have much better image quality. It can be done on budget.

Now, I did mention I am spoiled by dslr quality, but I know better than to compare the to phone-cam IQ. I don't need a phone cam to do anything fancy whatsoever. There's different kinds of crap though. The images from the RMN3 are 'ok' at best, even by mid level phone cam standards. Other phone cams can do it better for the same money, they are all I am directly comparing it to tbh.

I don't see many phone cams beating the S6 in the dept, they just got it bang on with that one. And you can get an S6 nowadays for about 370 [hint, hint I have one for sale! on adverts]

Does the S6 give you RAW files? I am not a fan of post processing and being able to export in raw would be all i really need as bet your bottom dollar I can extract a better image than what most phones will show me...

No interest in buying you understand just asking. My One plus 3 is all the cam I need.
