Guy has moved ahead of me after he had Daniels, Siggy and Costa captained.

    Fúcking Charlie Daniels.

27 from 7 is a bit of a disaster. Though probably could have been worse considering I had Aguero(c). Lot of players on borrowed time in my team though and now have two FT's to sort things out.

30 points with Holebas and Firminho to play.

Surprised to see I fell 7k to 152k.

Thank you Theo for saving me from extreme disaster.

I should say...27 from 8. Friend, Mee and Mané to go. Not terrible with Kun captained.

    Thank you Ozil and Lukaku.

Need a miracle for the week to be decent.

3 captains? Even I don't manage that on a week.

Hoping Jakupovic might get back in the team after them shipping 6 v Bournemouth today! :o

Just saw that 9,605 TC'd Aguero this week.

Just so you know, there's always someone worse off than you!

25 (-4) sees me fall 120k places to 398k. Sold Ozil and of course he scores, cheers Mesut. I have Rashford, Firmino, Valencia and Friend to play so hoping to hit at least 40 points still.

I had 2 of my 3 strikers play today. Total of -3pts between them.

That's a total of 0 captain points in past 2GW's

Feels like an airshow with all these red arrows around

Just seen that Bellerin assist. Pathetic decision.

Fella in my league left Stekklenburg on the bench, has Valdes to start tomorrow. I'd be disgusted.

100% an assist according to the rules of FPL.

People may not like the rule but thats always an assist in this game.

have him and have NO idea why he got it
I've banged on about this before this season
they appear to be ignoring their own rules
it's not even lack of consistency
    it's just making it up

Lads. How is it inconsistent!?!? Here is the rule. And I've not seen one single example this season where this rule has not been applied consistently.

If an opposing player touches the ball after the final pass before a goal is scored, significantly altering the intended destination of the ball, then no assist is awarded.

The ball was headed in towards Walcott by Bellerin. Walcott was clearly the intended destination of the ball. It's a stonewall FPL assist.

For Cazorlas the corner was headed towards Xhaka and came of Corks back or heel, changed direction by 90 degrees and dropped to Walcott, who it wasn't the destination of the ball before the deflection.

Depends on whether you consider Walcott or the space the ball was going to as the "destination." I'd say the defender altered the intended destination.

Btw, did Antonio get a sniff of anything today? Any sense in keeping him?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,022 ✭✭✭✭Iused2likebusts

Motd just did a piece on hazard in the new 343 system. I do think he is a much better option in that system than a 433 as he will have no real defensive responsibilities. I can see myself get him back in the next few weeks.

That was a fine goal from Lukaku.

Yes, that is somewhat open to interpretation the rules. Although in this case its pretty obvious that Bellerin was heading it into Walcott. Also, you are missing the word significantly.

However, FPL always take the 'generous' interpretation. Always. As in if the space, as in the general area of the 6 yard box at the near post, was the intended destination then the defender did not significantly alter that. Like I said earlier, it tends to need a 90 degree change in direction for it to be taken as 'significantly' altering the destinaton.

I see absolutely no argument for inconsistency. There were 4 potential 'deflection' assists in GW5 and the rules as above were applied exactly the same for all of them. Puncheon, Ibra and Alli assists. Bony no assist.

I like the "spirit" of the rule. A guy who hits the post or has a parried shot converted gets an assist.

I was telling people to hold him and watched the workman-like hammers show.
He is still a major threat offensively and 2M cheaper than Payet and has scored points from that wingback/fullback spot. Creswell caught the eye and on another day would have won a pen instead of a red card. I still think he's a hold, as is Payet mainly because they're not in Europe and out of the cup, but like we were saying surfing the midfield points will involve luck/skill and perhaps patience most of all.

1 touch in the box that was a shot that Puncheon cleared off the line

I hear Puncheon was very deep today. He's a 'patience' player but mine's wearing thin.

After much hemming and hawing, I go for Costa captain, sticks one in the onion bag only 10 minutes into the gameweek.

Picked Jakupovic over Stekenelburg. Haven't seen the lineups, Hull 1 down early doors.

Hull getting battered. Check line ups, no Jakupovic. Stekenelburg saves 2 pens and is due to come in to my team.

53 points on the board, 4 players still to play. Happy Enough.

The literal worse type of humble-brag, now with added gifs and less "happy enough". :D
