I was battling a level 3 gym with 3 pokemon this morning and had beaten them all the first time. Then I got a network error as I had almost beaten it the second time. When I went in again a brand new pokemon was defending it, despite the fact I was the only person within a hundred yards of the gym. Was this a bot?

Likely, were there any buildings in sight?

Was out for a short trip to North Bull Island today and caught a decent few Pokémon. Caught a lot of Magikarp and closing in on a Gyarados.

And then take them training in friendly gyms

I always catch low CP mons but I just grind them, instantly.

I don't think that's how the new mechanics work, it's based on your trainer level not the pokemon's level.

I've caught 12 of the ol' buggers since Niantic increased the spawn rate of regional Pokemon a while back. In comparison, I'd only hatched 1 and seen exactly 0 before that update.

I got a Chansey from a 10k egg too. Happy to get something new, but it looks like a fairly useless mon. CP is 371, can't evolve it.

Look at its HP thou, it'll be 300+. Absolute tank of a yolke.

On an aside, seen a few people giving out about a few little things that Niantic update, such as the visuals, and complaining that the tracker hasn't been fixed instead.

I'm not a programmer per say, but I've dabbled, but have also worked on the staff of a fairly big online game in the past, and have a little idea of the goings on behind the scenes, although, obviously Niantic would be worlds away.

They will have teams of people working in dedicated areas, so while they may have a load of resources going in to future updates, and working on a fix for the tracker, they will have a whole bunch of other people on the front end design side who can't help with that, and can obviously be spending their time on something.

So yeknow, just keep in mind, that when you're complaining that they're changing some stuff while not fixing something critical, it doesn't necessiarly mean that those tweaks slowed down the process of fixing the things you want in any way.

On my part, big fan of this update, found catching vermin a little easier and gym battling better too, managed to cash out on 7 gyms today! Also found the game a bit less laggy and whatnot, especially as regards gyms, needed to restart the app, far less than usual.

Only Porygon? You have a few to go yet. 142 is the max. at the moment. If you haven't evolved and don't have the candy for the rest it doesn't really count
