When/ where is the best place and time to use incense and a lure? Is it pot luck or location dependant. After all they both suposedly attract nearby pokemon.

Cheers for the link! I started tracking at 124 eggs hatched and I'm up to 137 now, so not a lot to add yet, but I'm tracking all types so we'll see.

My anecdotal experience with eggs since I started has been 2km give me Weedles, Rattatas Zubats etc. and then, once in a blue moon, a Bulbasaur. 5km results are probably my best since there's so much variety plus I always need a good bit of candy to help with all the evolutions.

I've had no luck with lure's in Ireland, abroad was great, just because the spawns there where so different to us.
The one time it was ok was the pokestop on the road out to bull island, it's the stop half way along that road.

Insense has been utterly useless to me. But I've heard that if you use it in an area with no spawn within a kilometre, the game can not pull from local spawns so chooses at random from the pokedex, there are multiple videos on line of people catching really cool pokemon using this method.
The problem I see is that generally the places with no spawns are also the places with no bloody phone signal.

Incense is a complete waste IMO, gave it one last chance so many times. 99% of my incense spawns have been rattata, wheedles and pidgey. Most interesting thing I had is one Squirtle

Incense is only as good as the Pokemon in the area you're in though so, when I've used it, I've just seen more frequent spawns of the usual types. Lures, however, can sometimes be golden!! I love a good lure

Just booted it up to check out the update. Seems ok, I'm not sure how much impact those gold medals have. I have +3 to catch rate on both normal and flying, but a 300CP pidgy just burst out of three balls and ran. Seems like business as usual to me.

It's working fine for me and I even did a lucky egg run. The shorter evolve animation makes runs even more worthwhile now!

I hatched 2 x 10km eggs yesterday where I got a Clefairy Chansey and a Scyther. I also hatched a 5km egg for a 541 Meowth.

You can't get clefairy in the 10kms.

Whats this new thing appearing when you're catching pokemon now? Appeared for me this morning at the top of the screen. Seems to be showing the type of pokemon. (Eg Weedle showed the bug/poison symbols) Who gives a ****? Can Niantic stop doing useless updates and fix the bloody radar?

It's the medal showing your extra catching chance.

They are the medals. You catch rate increases by 1% for each medal that you have.

If you click on the trainer button on the bottom left it will show you all your medals.

It's based on types and once you reach 200 of each type you've hit the limit. If you've already caught 200 normal type Pokemon your chances of catching Rattata won't increase anymore than they already have.

Another Jynx from a 10km egg.

I've three over 1000cp now. I'd actually love if it was possible to just pour all my candies into one, and make a beast 2000cp Jynx, would make the game more interesting.

As it is, just another egg dud.

Its an annoying player 'reward' system. You do the walking to hatch the 10km eggs but its completely random. If you luck out then all you get for your trouble is a single candy for transferring them out. Same as the moveset system with final evolutions.
All that effort for nothing.

At least give us extra candy for beastly pokemom, say 1 per 2-300 CP?

And it works to some extent.. before it takes me 5 pokeballs to catch a pidgey only to run away, now it takes only 3. :pac:

Game crashes for me anytime i go near a gym, anytime my phone loses signal, anytime my phone tracks wifi and I've not updated the app yet!!! I have no hope!!!

Why are the kms walked on current eggs now in blue?? What's that achieve? Picked up a 2nd 10k egg since yesterday. That's 5 in the last week. They must be more common now?? Had like 11 or 12 in the 3 months before that.

Minor text fixes. They spend more time tweaking how the game looks than how it works.

Oh and I've only had 2 10km eggs ever, Scyther and Lapras.

They seem to go through phases for 10kms.

I got 8 in the last week of September, none since.

My stats are 35% 2km, 55% 5km and 10% 10km. Since I started recording them.

Christ I'm a nerd.

Having only caught 2 and hatched 1 Exeggcute im right on the verg of getting the candies i need to evolve it im level 27 and have a 650 Exeggcute with 96% IV's (think its the highest IV ive had on anything tbh) that i hatched last week ... Should i evolve that one or hold out see if i get one with higher CP , im torn given how few ive seen and the class IV range of the one ive got

Evolve it. But exeggcutor is very hit and miss regarding it's move sets.
It's up there with Gyarydos, in that a wrong move set really reduces the usefulness of the mon massively.

Whats the best move set you can get with it ? out of interest

Do Iv's affect that at all or is it just totally random

I was battling a level 3 gym with 3 pokemon this morning and had beaten them all the first time. Then I got a network error as I had almost beaten it the second time. When I went in again a brand new pokemon was defending it, despite the fact I was the only person within a hundred yards of the gym. Was this a bot?

No, move sets are total random.
It does not appear to be influenced by IV, CP, previous move set, etc.
