There might be regulations, but that's nothing without enforcement. I don't think I've come across any enforcement actions mentioned against autioneers, estate agents, etc.

They're listed here along with any fines or 'charitable donations' they're made pay, but the major sanctions and convictions section is not updated yet, a cynic would said that's because it would involve those registered to the PRSA as opposed to those trading without a PRSA licence or whatever.

That is a bit of a ridiculous case to be fair. A PAYE worker doesn't have that income included in calculating their taxable income so it shouldn't really be included in calculating someone's ability to qualify for jobseekers allowance.

It's a tax relief for working folk. Obvious.

    Pretty small stuff, really.
I look forward to the prosecutions for mis-selling, exaggerations, outright lies and sheer nonsense that some carry out.

Gross, but not net. If he's only covering the cost of the room as its part of his mortgage, I fail to see how it can be counted as spendable income.
Of course, the idiots in charge set things up to penalise property owners that way, and count all of it as income, which is patently ridiculous.
You may as well ask any shopkeeper what is gross and what is net, for a straight answer. Even the dogs in the street know the answer, but not the fools who draft legislation.

He blocked me a while ago.

Same here. I'd love to know what the offending tweet was. I don't think I have ever interacted with him, or not directly; I have mentioned Liveline and his salary once or twice. And I did put my real name (which is also on Twitter) on the letter of complaint regarding his interrogation of the Rio police commissioner.

So he's either searching Twitter for mention of himself, and expunging all negative comment, or he's looking up the complainants. Either way, it's a badge of honour!

He can expunge his critics on his 'unedited, unfiltered, uncensored' radio show, but he can't stop them on newer media.

Was back visiting friends in Hannover early this year. Two kids; 8 and 11. They're in school from 8-2. She can drop them off from 7 and can leave them there until 5 if she pays €5.

For the fiver the kids get a meal such as pasta with sauce or a salad, that they help to make. They can play in the playground, do homework or projects or make stuff. There is no TV, they may put on a documentary.

The young fella came home with a split lip and 3 stitches because he got hit by a Frisbee in the mouth. There was never any question of litigation whereas here the parents could expect a five figure payout.

And that's the difference. Creche prices here are nuts because of high insurance /inshurdance and the fact that they need so many more staff in the first place to stop kids grazing a knee in the first place.

It's a bit more complex than that, but it's part of the bigger problem.

    Wat colour was de frisbee?

He's obviously very sensitive to criticism. I'd never personally attack anyone on Twitter, and to do so would be pretty stupid considering I use my real name.

So he just can't bear anyone speaking about his salary or criticising the show, and presumably goes looking for this to root it out?

This doesn't affect me personally, but it says something about the man that he seems to find even implied criticism intolerant.

From memory, my blocking occurred shortly after I asked RTE to stop @talktojoe1850 using their taxpayer funded airtime for plugging his private enterprise. Childer of Da Coddle, sez you!

The reason that ticket touting is not illegal is because no one is fcuking-well obliged to buy tickets for anything at any price.
Yes, but ticketmaster agree to take a cut of say 10% of each ticket they sell. This allows them to get around that restriction, they can seell a ticket on seatwave for hundreds and then they get about 60% of the money
