This is the problem with giveaway budgets, every group and sector of society comes out of the woodwork and starts whinging about why they should have been included.

What, she thinks that public sector workers are unique in having no relief in the tax bands?

This lady is typical of the type of person who thinks she's unique in having these problems, and tries blaming it on the fact she works in the public sector.

Yes, us lucky private sector workers got big decreases in our tax and never have to worry about the cost of childcare. And wait until she hears about our great pensions we get, oh wait, that's her...

Was there ever going to be a different outcome?

Being told you have a bad line when you're not in floods of tears so that Joe wants to hear you sob better is the equivalent of

Not sure, but apparently for unemployment payment you have to have been paying into an unemployment fund out of your salary when you were working, and this, I think, will only pay out for up to 2 years.

To get children's allowance I think you also have to be paying tax.

No, he done Star Trek, but was offered Star Wars but turned it down, but still had producer credit.

Maybe I'm alone here, but I think the budget yesterday was about as fair and about as generous a budget that could have been given, considering where we are at. How the fcuk can so many people find so many problems with it?

Just about any taxpayer living in Germany with children can get the Kindergeld, whether employed, self employed or independent. You get it as a rule until the children turn 18, though it can continue until they are 25 if they are still in school or meet other requirements for an extension. Starting in January 2016 the benefit has been raised to €190 per month for each of the first two children, €196 for the third child and €221 for each subsequent one. http://www.howtogermany.com/pages/kindergeld.html
