He's actually dead in this picture and is being propped up on a stick to keep the $15 million payday intact.

He's Sergei's protege, done English and Irish events I think, wrestling since he was a chiddler.

I take his class the odd time I can make it down on a Friday. Very explosive style.

This has probably been mentioned but have they decided on Diaz's punishment for the press conference? Surely it should mirror Conor's?

It should be worse than Conors since he was the instigator

His beard is 3/8ths shorter there than the pic above so obviously the pic was taken before his knockout to use in such a situation!!

    Simple really!!

Dead Conor will fight at UFC 205 in a wheelchair, controlled by John Kavanagh wearing fake hands.

When this is discovered, John's penalty will be that he has to kick Dana White up the arse.

McGregor by KO with a spinning tornado kick in the first 30 seconds.

    Obviously.

2 rounds each heading into the fifth, McGregor edging the final round until with 10 seconds to go, low blow to Big John McCarthy! Deducted one point, fight ends in a draw, they do it all over again two weeks later in Croke Park.

One thing I'd be slightly concerned about would be Conor's psychological state depending on what his big announcement is. If it is that he's going to have a kid and take a year off from MMA, it would be perfectly understandable if his focus wasn't quite what it usually is.

Now obviously a guy like McGregor is very, very well versed in leaving his emotions and outside life at the door when he steps into the octagon, but all the same something like that is totally life-changing and it's hard to tell how it will affect an individual's ability to shut out the world and concentrate on their job, whatever that job is.

Having said that, he had so much riding on 202 in terms of pride and in terms of maintaining his juggernaut image and he didn't let that phase him, so we've already seen that he can keep his mental state in check. On the other hand, his quasi-meltdown earlier this year over the promotions issue does also imply that his mental stamina can be compromised, just like the rest of us.

In a lot of ways I wish he would have announced whatever his big announcement is at the 205 presser instead of after the fight, would save us all this speculation. I also still say that a pre-announced "McGregor's last fight before hiatus" would have generated more hype than a mysterious, unknown pending announcement.

The "year off" report came from Dizz (same guy who broke the "KO/broken nose" report).

He's had some successful scoops this year but this incident clearly shows he doesn't do due-diligence or any sort of reporting. He just tweets out what he's told. He's not an actual, active reporter.

Ariel Helwani, on the other hand, said clearly on the MMA Hour that Conor's "big announcement" does not affect his fighting career.

So there's no 'year off' happening.

I do believe Dee is pregnant, she's been completely anonymous on all social media since Dana opened his big mouth.

If true, i think it'll inspire Conor, not distract him.

As for the fight, it'll really depend who lands clean first. If Eddie tags him with a good shot we'll immediately see if Conor respects his power. In the Mendes fight, Chad landed some clean shots very early and Conor didn't fear his power and proceeded to walk straight through his punches.

If Eddies clean shots hurt him, then Conor will revert to a Diaz-type strategy of using his footwork and getting on his bike to circle back to the center of the Octagon.

There's only really one fight that comes to mind where Conor was bull-rushed by an opponent and that's the Brimage fight. He came out running and swinging and Conor was able to utilise the uppercut on the back foot.

If Eddie comes out swinging i could see something similar happening. Brimage and Alvarez had similar styles in the sense they both punch head-first. Exposing that chin could prove a big mistake for Eddie.

The most likely scenarios in my mind are Conor KO/TKO within the first 8 minutes of the fight where he's at his deadliest.

Arguably Aldo came out pressing forward also.

as an aside, that Brimage highlight is probably my favourite to date

I think a few things could happen.

1 - Alvarez storms out at the start of the bell hoping to blitz McGregor as he did to Dos Anjos. This will suit Conor down to a tee. Conor wins by KO in the first.

2 - McGregor starts as he did against Diaz #1 and #2, dictating the pace and putting together swift combinations against Alvarez's head. The fight'll drag on with Alverez going for the double leg late in the first. Same story with Round #2, only McGregor lands the KO.

3 - Alvarez comes out of the gate, puts Conor on his back and holds him there. Rinse and repeat for five rounds. Alvarez by Decision.

I'd really like to see more of Conor's ground game. Assuming the fight will go to the ground at some stage it would be impressive if he pulls off some nice reversals from defensive ground positions or sprawls most of Eddie's take-downs.

If he can master is take down offence as well as he did vs Diaz 2, he will manage Diaz fine. I do really worry about him on the ground though, he gave up his back too quick in the first fight and Diaz cut through him.

He didn't give up his back because of lack of ground game he was having a snooze
He was out in his feet and it was either shoot and hope to make the end of the round or get knocked out so he made his choice
I think it was making the best of a bad situation considering he dosent want a knockout on the highlight reels

McGregor will end it starting with a wheel kick.
