Did she take out life insurance policies on her kids too? If she did they better keep an eye on what she puts on their Corn Flakes so to speak.

INBS had the largest fine ever, €5 million...
As part of the settlement, INBS has admitted to having committed multiple breaches of financial services law and regulation, including persistent failure to comply with its own internal policies and procedures during the Relevant Period. As a result, the Central Bank has reprimanded INBS and imposed the maximum applicable fine of €5 million. As INBS does not have any assets, it would not be in the public interest to pursue the collection of the fine and, accordingly, the Central Bank will not do so on this occasion.

Liveline's been a bit boring lately. Instead of his "Libel, Libel, Libel" routine in the bathroom, maybe Joe should tell himself "Listeners, Listeners, Listeners" and just go full-frontal (sorry, awful image) on controversial topics like RTÉ, Pat Hickey, Joe's salary, etc.

Listenership would hit the roof. We need more Joe-rage. Nobody gives a fcuk about claustrophobia in the MRI machine. What's he got to lose? His journalistic dignity? Ha! He lost that long ago.

I'm not even kidding. If it really wants to be listener-driven, why cannot Liveline just embrace the stuff that listeners really love? Joe's meltdowns are fcuking epic.

I'm sure Yew or some of the researchers read this thread, even if Joe cannot bring himself to. Come on lads, what do ye have to lose?

He won't stick his neck out on truly controversial stuff that has powerful vested interests involved. Long ago he mastered the technique of appearing to be De Peepul's Champion, while only really tackling stuff he knew wouldn't tread on the toes of the rich and powerful.
Nah; soft targets that are easy pickings is the order of the day for our Joe.
Gaybo and Finucane were heard to push the boat out on occasion, without giving much of a toss about whose nose they put out of joint. Such days of mildly-impassioned journalism in the hallways of Montrose are long gone, with the erstwhile journo-warriors putting their collective feet up and sliding cosily towards the grave.

Roy Stone Brady on now with Seán O'Rourke talking about the hurry cane in Florida, I expect this will be the topic for Joe today, especially if BOC is in the area at the moment...or was last month.

Was Royston not a favoured forrin correspondent at one stage for Joe?

    Or am I imagining that?

He may reappear on the airwaves later today (if he's not battened down in the cellar with his 700 guests while the hotel is demolished around him ) with De Real Story - we can but live in hope.

I read today that preacher upon high Fergus Finlay's salary, and other execs within Barnardos, has been found to be in excess of the HSE's pay rates. The audit into it also has said that the information supplied to it by Barnardos regarding this has been unclear. Barnardos also invoice press and media for contributions made by Finlay. Very charitable altogether.

The Barnardo's PR working hard when by starting their press release about this with
We are first and foremost happy that the HSE Internal Audit team has stated that the primary purpose of the Audit has been satisfied and that all funding of Barnardos by the HSE/Tusla during the Audit period has been "correctly and fully accounted for".

Finlay's statement might be claimed to be a bit defensive/deflective
The HSE Internal Audit Report into the operations of Barnardos raises issues about several aspects of my salary arrangements, and makes several recommendations. We have already implemented these recommendations in full.

However, it is important that some context be offered. It is also important to be clear that in raising these issues, the Internal Audit team make no suggestion of wrong-doing. There are no secret pay arrangements in Barnardos, no top-ups, no extras like life or health insurance. My salary and conditions, and indeed all the various matters referred to here, have always been openly published by Barnardos.

I wonder will Joe ask how many open MRI machines the HSE could have bought for our large population of claustrophobics had he been paid within the rates?
