    It was likely not a critial illness policy, must have been something with an investment element attached and cover included then was cashed in when it ended.

    I took out a policy with them in 1987. I crashed a motor cycle that night. Between hopping and trotting I got a cheque for 15,000 six months later. For two years after people weee ring my parents number looking to know if it was true that their paid out. When I got on to them it turned out I signed a form giving them permission to use my name for marketing purposes.

    I went to England shortly after that. My mother ended up telling people that I never got paid.
