DoctaDee, if it is Tralee, we'll get there. After all, us Dubs aren't afraid of or strangers to travelling. My boys are still too young to be playing or going to matches yet. They do however recognise a certain blue shirt enough to know that their Daddy is going to a match when they see me wearing it. :) The same goes for my Dublin backpack. The time will come when they will join me and start upon the journey that my father started me on when he first began bringing me to matches.

Is there any truth to the rumours that mayo are receiving larger allocations of tickets?
Anytime I hear of people talking about tickets and getting one it's from the mayo side of things?
I hear their club teams are getting a extra terrace allocation depending on the clubs playing level.

On the dublin side I hear ****.all.

Well its clearly going to be easier to pick up a ticket in Mayo than Dublin considering Dublin have almost exactly 10 times more people living there. ........

That's not what I asked? I asked how are mayo seemingly getting more tickets, in particular terrace tickets. Look at the hill in the first game. Loads of mayo perched there. Probably more than at their early championship games.

who said they are getting more?? you mentioned that anytime you hear that someone is after getting a ticket, its from the Mayo side. Effectively, its easier to get a ticket in Mayo, if you get me, as there is more knocking about proportionately wise. so you hear about that more. Of course the tickets are allocated fairly, its all done openly.

Essentially, the demand is so big in Dublin that once someone gets a ticket, it aint going anywhere.

You do realise Dublin gaa do not own hill 16, the only terrace left is the hill and nally. ? 50% of the hill should be Mayo fans, anything less and its just the GAA giving in to attitudes like yours.

Likewise Dublin should be entitled to purchase 50% of the stand tickets that cost twice the price. Im sure if they reverse the price and make the hill tickets 60 euro, Mayo fans would be willing to swap for the 30 euro stand tickets :).

As for attendances, half of Mayo live/work in Dublin or London(E Kenny, :( ) so there not going to be home for every game. Travelling the length of the country is not as easy as some of you have it by just travelling a few minutes down the road for every game, on public transport if you feel like it. Having a dispersed population does help to pick up tickets in other counties and countries.

Dublin clubs got the same allocation for the replay as for the original match. No extra tickets and no juvenile tickets.

Where did the tickets from the allocated for the minor match get distributed?

There was 8000 extra tickets distributed between the two counties due to minor match surplus

I've deleted the email from the club and can't get it back, but they were clear that they got no extra tickets.

My club posted they were getting the same number of tickets. Seems odd if 8000 extra tickets were distributed between both counties. Irrelevant to me anyway, I have mine.

Michelle Mulhern stole them all. It was like Ocean's 14.

Just a rough count on the last game I saw more mayo "supporters".
There's a lot of eddie durcans and vipers in among the "support" too.

Imy told it's all fair but what I see is not 50:50 dublin mayo. Which on Saturday it should be. I'm sure we will see.

Anyways back to the game, I think dublin should line up the same except Andrews in for kev mac. We will need him for the last 20.
I would expect dublin to go out and try win the physical battle first. I hope somebody hits that little **** keegan a good solid fair shoulder early on. Dublin need to wear them down and take their scores. Hopefully kev mac can come on and run at a very tired defence.

"rough count" of 80,000 supporters!! ha!

In fairness, the colourful Mayo "indian colours" as Ger Canning annoyingly refers them as would stick out more than Dub jersey

    sure, Jim! :D

I rough counted and saw it was 41 % Mayo, 42 % Dublin, with 5% Kerry and 5% Galway and 7% AN Others!

So we will agree to disagree!

Ah, here we go with the usual nonsense. Mayo folk have huge distances to travel and all Dubs live within 10 minutes of Croke Park. News for you: Not all Dubs live in Dublin. Many travel great distances to Croke Park and to all other venues around the country that they go to. With Dublin so full of culchies, as we are so often told, many Dubs can't find a place to live in their own county. So you'll find plenty of them living outside Dublin and indeed Ireland, over there in London with their Mayo cousins, amongst other places.

With all those culchies in Dublin, there are plenty of Mayo fans within 10 minutes of Croke Park who wouldn't go to see their county play there, except if it was a final. Michelle Mulherin's attendance record would put some of them to shame. At least you get to play some games at home, something denied to us Dubs. It's 12 years since our last home championship match with no sign of that ending any time soon. Not so long in the league, but it's been a few years and no sign of that ending any time soon either. So enjoy your privileges.

When you are coming to Dublin on Saturday, don't get caught in the traffic as Dubs come from every corner of Ireland to see their county play, not forgetting the many coming through Dublin Airport, North Wall and Dún Laoghaire, as do the Mayo fans. Although you'd like to believe otherwise, we are no different.

There's a mayo flag out a window on the road beside the coke park ticket office.
That's closer to croker than myself.

Anyways I prefer not to engage them in this topic, like their footballers they just play victim all day long.

Well with all this dispersed Dublin population you say is out there there shouldn't be a problem for them to pick up tickets in much the same way Mayo fans are having to do.
Maybe you should remind whoever runs the Hill16 fan page of that too. He or she appears to be very put out over ticket allocations for the put-upon Dubs.

I would say the opposite, as in Dublin have this us against the rest of the country paronia, refs target them and that noone respects their team and that everyone is obsessed with the huge financial backing they get.

Not you personally, but there has been plenty of that line of thought expressed for years

You don't have to live in your own county to buy a season ticket

The facebook pages are full of sunshine fans and shouldn't be taken seriously.

Loads of people on there are commenting saying tickets should go on general sale to give the "real supporters" a chance!
    :D:D:D:D
    you couldn't make it up.

Prices for the final are disgraceful & the players don't receive a penny. More greed from the GAA officials.

Poor Cillian O Connor must have some thoughts in his mind knowing that kick was worth a figure of €7 to 10 milion between GAA and other beneficiaries around the city!
Worth about €3 to 4 million to the GAA alone!

Paid e30 this morning for the hill. Not bad value at all. Even the e40 for the drawn game was value. I've gotten 2 weeks of ****e talk and articles out of that game.
Don't mind spending money if I get value.

Spent e80 on a united game last year. Was utter ****e. Best part was the pub.
