Homecoming celebrations tomorrow at 2pm in the Peoples Park, then 5pm in Fungarvan.

Anyone know what they are doing this evening?

A display of skill and flair from a wonderful U-21 team. That is the way hurling is supposed to be played. There is nothing to beat the free flowing hurling of this team. Others need to learn from this. Thankfully the famine is over. Congrats to management and to every player on the panel. We are proud of you.

Also, Bennett's goal at the end was outrageous. Worth the admission price alone.

Well done today. The first half especially was an absolute joy to watch in person.

Congrats guys, actually missed the game myself but had no doubt ye would lift the trophy, nice few players to form the spine of the senior team in years to come, aside from those there already!

Well done to Waterford today. Lovely scenes at the end of the game. Every kid in the county must have invaded the pitch. Brilliant. :D

Waterford will be serious contenders for the next few years. I think they need to abandon the sweeper because they have the sticksmen and the workrate. They maybe werent clinical enough in front of the posts against Kilkenny over the two matches and their forward play needs to be a bit more cohesive but they are a young team and that will come

Just back and still buzzing. We win few all Irelands so it's very much one to savour. Great to see so many kids there and the joy it brought to the players and fans . Sean Power deserves a lot of credit for taking this group along for many years and it shows when you have a good manager over good players what can be done.

U21 doesn't always translate into senior success but winning breeds winning and such dominant performances certainly indicate we will be challenging over the next few years.

Moon pie, what a time to be alive

You know you've made it in the gaa world when you need 3 guards surrounding you for autographs after the game

Great performance, amazing scenes in Thurles. Is this team the greatest ever under 21 hurling team seen in this country? Think the average winning margin in the 4 games was 18 points.

You'll have everyone in Clare up in arms after that comment :D Class performance from ye're lads this evening and all the way to the final. 3 contenders for goal of the year too. Stephen Bennets catch and shot for the last goal was unbelievable as was his cross to Shane before that and add in Currans no look handpass in the first half. Would have loved to see this Waterford team up against our u21's from 13, would have made some cracker of a game with Gleeson, the Bennets and Curran up against Tony Kelly, Galvin, Podge and co with no systems and stifling tactics like we have seen at senior.

You think? I would have thought that to be a very poor showing on our part for what is only our fifth final at Senior/Minor/Under-21 level in the last 40 years.

Happy to be literally 100% wrong :D:D. 14k was a great crowd with 13k of that coming from Waterford. Brilliant support today to back a fine team.

    Onwards and upwards.

This team are certainly up there with the great Clare teams of recent past. The frustrating thing for the Banner is that they haven't pushed on and won more especially with the gifted group of players at their disposal. Yes they have picked up an all Ireland but you get the feeling they believe they should be in contention alot more(rightly so)because of the quality of players they have and we in Waterford must not let that happen with this side. We have one of the strongest pools of players anywhere in the country from u25 down to this present side and it showed today that giving these fellas the responsibility to make the right decisions and not bloody suffocate them with negative sh**e that they can reward us in bucket loads. These fellas are something special, just look at any of the 5 goals we scored today and see the vision, skill, and execution of those scores and see the way they want to play. They are entertainers, is it a Waterford thing?maybe, but what teams out there wouldn't fancy meeting them 15 on 15?
We looked shaky for the first 10-15 mins of the second half but again our fellas natural instinct was to go for the throat and kill the game rather than retreat back the field as in the senior. We did the same in the first half, went straight for the kill at every opportunity and didn't it pay off! Proud of that performance today because not only did we win but it was how it was done was even more satisfactory.

was at the match this evening, in d horrors now watchin it on d telly, wow that pass from curran for the goal was just classy, more than classy

wonderful performance, no disrespect to Patrick Curran who was brilliant but I thought Micheàl Harney was motm by a country mile, and has to be given a go in the no 5 jersey at senior level. Derek Mcgrath is a v good manager in lots of ways but would you like to see his hurling philosophy rubbing off on this bunch over the next critical couple of years

Watching the game back now and I almost cried to see the demographic of those lining up to run on to the pitch at the final whistle. The average age looked about 7. How many of them will be excitedly pucking a ball around this morning, eager to be the next Austin Gleeson? Really looking forward to bringing my boy to the homecoming. In the 3 years he has been alive we have won two All-Irelands. I was 36 before I could say that!

Some amount of youngsters up there alright. Brilliant to see. During the parade a huge chant of 'Aussie, Aussie' broke out from the kids in the old stand. The idol for the next generation, the same way the likes of Ken, Tony, Mullane, Dan, Flynn et al were for this under 21 team

Was fantastic to see the amount of people around Aussie at the end, and the patience he had with the kids. Took a nice picture of him signing autographs after the final whistle.

Good crowd down in the park for the homecoming. Hopefully a good crowd show up in dungarvan too

Really great feeling getting up this morning knowing we're all Ireland champions at under 21 level once again

Hopefully the lads can push on now and someday lift the Liam McCarthy.

Expecting a DVD release for Xmas

Does anyone know if you can listen to the match back on the WLR website? Didn't have it on the radio yesterday because it was too far ahead of the tv.

Didn't get to see the match last night unfortunately. Well done on the AI title, Waterford seemed to be the best team in the championship by a good bit. Enjoy the celebrations :)

Great crowd and was perfect venue for it. Kids had loads of space. Glad the weather held for it and Harvest festival, rotten out there now. Hopefully not too bad in fungarvan weather wise

Outstanding display by our u21 team. Congrats to all involved especially every player on the panel. The number of clubs represented on this panel is worthy of attention. Even though U21 grade is a different kettle of fish to senior hurling, would love to see some of that artistry next year at senior level. The Waterford senior management team's next step is crucial. Roll on 2017!

The heavens opened just before the team arrived, but that didn't dampen the spirt of the crowd great to see. Patrick gave a great speech poor fella was very emotional. Gave a shout to huli and Trevor, fair play to him.
