Saw this on twitter. Virtually guaranteed when when the angle isn't too oblique. Amazing form this year.

im bamboozled by that one! Perhaps it was last few minutes against Donegal in 2012 when he had to go for goal? There is no way any player would miss from there?!! Maybe a penalty?

Probably that he's not as good as our Deano

I think he did miss one from there , I kind of remember it , don't think it was an important moment. I remember s couple of us laughing at it.

He's not the only one. In that epic 2013 semi final, both Colm Cooper and Bernard Brogan missed a couple of absolute bankers, that my granny would have put over the bar with ease. T'was weird. Happened within a couple of minutes of each other too.

Maybe he remembered that he wanted to whinge at the ref about something just as he took the kick

Its an element of the deadball specialists game that he's really mastered, getting in the refs ear all day trying to have lads booked and sent off. :o

Ya it's one area where dublin are really lacking. If only they could learn to influence referees they could be the complete team.

Normally I'd have word about a ticket or two by now. Not looking good.

Still a few avenues to explore though, so fingers crossed something materialises.

I hate the years when it's 4 away. Though they're not bad trips.

    Killarney on Paddy's weekend? Noice.

Just looking at the hurlers fixtures its a reminder that they'll do well to stay in 1A next year. They're a good bit off the level of everyone bar Cork now

Good luck getting a hotel room in Killarney on the Saturday night of a Paddy's weekend. Like those hoors need another financial windfall. Why not send us up to Letterkenny or Ballybofey that weekend instead? Spread the fiscal love. Wonder if the Kerry game might be in Tralee?

There's talk over in the Long Grass about a Tralee fixture.

I'll save me acorns if it's Tralee - will probably do the Cavan & Monaghan games alright. Can't be arsed with the AI thread tbh, hope everyone that needs sorting has a ticket - I'll keep an ear to the ground if there's any going

Never been to a game in Tralee. What's it like? Killarney is lovely, but its very blustery. The last two games there, it was make hay in the half you had the wind, or forget about it. Is Tralee any better?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,088 ✭✭✭✭BonnieSituation

Well Tralee is bit of shoitehole in comparison to Killarney. But long time since I darkened its figurative door.

The pitch is lovely and well cared for. Our club lads played on it in June.

Main stand is ok/basic. Terracing around the other three sides (not much behind the goal to the right of the main stand).

I was talking about the town. Never in the stadium. I think I'll make this trip no matter what cos I would wager the other away games may fall awkwardly.

Well as the one of the lads that travels with us says .. you go to Killarney for a match and Tralee for a battle

LOL. Was down there in May, with two of the little Star Wars mad cousins. Used Tralee as the base, as Luke Skywalker & his chums had all the hotel rooms from Dingle to Dantooine booked out. Not gone on the town at all. A bit grim. Where is the stadium? Is it in the town, or on the outskirts? Didn't see any sign of it when we were there, but then I wasn't looking all that hard.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,593 ✭✭✭DoctaDee

Yeah PD it's in the town - not as far as the Brandon, it's fairly close to the racecourse IIRC

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,569 ✭✭✭✭ProudDUB

Jayzus, I didn't see a race course either. So I'm either completely fcuking blind, or where we were (Blennerville) is on the complete opposite side of town. :p

Edit: Just Google Mapped it. There is a Lower Ballymun, just south of the hospital. Philly will feel right at home. In more ways than one. :D
