How do people define a nest? For me it's at least for or five per hour or several at once.

Well theres one place outside my house and I would call it a nest as every couple of hours a new rare mon will spawn there and it was also one of those (Swirling leaves things) before they removed them.

It would be several at once for me. The Growlithe nest in St. Catherine's Park spawns like 6 or 7 Growlithes at once, several times a day.

If it's not the same mon each time it's definitely not a nest. These kind of spawn spots are fantastic however.

There's something fundamentally wrong with the banner when I find myself ignoring a Pinsir and picking up the 75cp weedle beside it instead. And the weedle fled, of course.

anyone noticed that pokemon are spawning more often in the last few days?

Yup, for the last 3-4 days I think I get more groups of 3-4 spawning together. A week or so before that I thought the spawning rates had dropped off. Usual spots that would give 3-4 at a time were only doing 1-2.

Well like its the only spawn area in the entire estate so I would class it as some form of nest :P

Silph road have definitions for 3 kinds of nest one which has loads of the same Pokemon but are terrible cp iV one which the same kind of Pokemon spawns regularly and has the potential to be good, can't remember the third one. Lots of great eggecutes on bull island and st Anne's parks has been decent for growlithes. Very good area get the odd dratini and a bulbasaur at the Royal Dublin golf club.

Anybody know of some gyms which look impossible to take down, the Royal Dublin hospital to me is impossible and most of Dublin seems to be mystic and picked valor so things are quite difficult.

Sure teaming up to take down gyms should make them easy?

If anyone is out in Tallaght (Kingswood) there is a dratini spawn in the cemetary/park.

At some point I won't be able to but I'd rather hatch no eggs than continuously hatch all the Pokemon I have so much of already.

But surely you will at least be using your infinte incubater just to clear 1 egg at a time while playing the game, if only to try to make space to get another 10km?

Damn wasted a lure at mater hospital two pokemon both fled.

At the moment, I'm getting nothing new from the 2km and 5km eggs, which is why it's 10km or nothing. I'm also adding more new Pokemon to the Pokedex through catching or evolving so going to specific places to catch rare Pokemon, as opposed to walking extra km just to hatch eggs in the chance of acquiring a new Pokemon, seems to be a better use of my time.

With all that said, things might change over time but, for now, this is my plan.

Yeah but don't you walk around while catching pokemon anyway :pac: Unless you catch pokemon by just sitting at home.

So might as well put an egg in the infinite incubator at least while you're walking around catching mons.

I don't understand your plan. What happens when you inevitably have 9 5km eggs?

I found a Diglett on the way home, plus a Vulpix and two Kadabras and a Squirtle big enough to make a decent evolve. Pulled the trigger and made. 800CP Warturtle. Five minutes later found a wild 800CP Warturtle. He fled though, which was kind of a relief.

99/100 in the Dex now. Ten km egg on the boil. Maybe it will be lucky number 100.

Nearly lost my s**t earlier when I saw Dragonite on my Sightings. Unfortunately he didn't spawn:(
Was a rural area, just from the running about I did I'm certain in was over a hedge in rough enough looking field. To say I'm salty about it is an understatement

That's what the 10km eggs are for :D

Stop incubating eggs. There's only so much disappointment one can suffer before they say "enough"; for a time at least.

    Don't give up!
I was on an epically bad run. Then out of nowhere Snorelax and enough candies to evolve him to 2100+ then I got a bunch of 5 and 2 k's (Clefairy, Bellsprout, Nidoran (female), Exeggecute, Oddish) to allow me to add a further 8 to my pokedex. At level 25 adding 8 to your pokedex is no small feat.
My next 10k egg was a Magmar.....still over joyed with my Snorelax or tank as I like to call him ;p

If this info is anything to go by, it looks like we'll be doing far more walking when the buddy system launches.

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 36,039 Mod ✭✭✭✭pickarooney

So if I walk to Lyon I can get a Charizard.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 742 ✭✭✭ItsChecoTime

Looking forward to the buddy system cause I've only got the one Bulbasaur (my starter one) so I'm a long way from a Venasaur

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 36,039 Mod ✭✭✭✭pickarooney

    And a I would walk 500 miles
    And a I would walk 500 more
Just to get a hundred candies
    And evolve a Venosau-au-au-aur

I'm heading to Tenerife soon which seems to have a lot of uncommon (for Ireland) ones too. Did you buy a local sim?

I was on my way to Madeira when we had to detour to Tenerife for a night. I caught a Diglett, Machop and Cubone outside the airport. We were then brought to a hotel where it was Voltorb central!! Got to Madeira the next morning. I did some Pokemon there but it ate through my data.

    Enjoy the holiday!

Just to Merrion Sq, it's teeming with them and Jynx.
Or get a 10k egg, seems every second 10km egg I have is a bloody Magmar.

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 36,039 Mod ✭✭✭✭pickarooney

Someone said Magmar had gone from Merrion square.

I found Muk on my way to work. Number 100 in the Dex :)

He's almost impossible to hit but he went down first time when I finally caught him.

Has anyone any tips for catching mons that stand way back on the screen? Every ball just bounced in front of him until that one somehow hit.

1km to go on my 10km egg and I have another to replace it. I have 6 still to get from the 10k list so fingers crossed.

I finally evolved a decent Vaporeon this morning too.

Magmars have been gone from Merrion Sq since the last spawn switch. It was replaced with a Magikarp spawn :pac:

Aerodactyl CP1300 caught in the wild, happy with that. Used quite a few ultraballs, mind.

Glitch your gps out by kncoking your mobile data off while the game is open then turn it back on you will run about the map a bit and it may spawn for you then.
