When you go through the process make sure you lift each finger and re place it slightly different, and roll it slightly each time to give the sensor a better chance of recognising the whole finger tip instead of just a tiny portion of it...

+1 for this. I even have my index finger in twice, once for the main part of the print, and once for the tip for when it's in the car cradle and I'm pushing the button nearly perpendicularly

Anyone seeing issues where data is dropping? I suspect it's the three network. It was flaky on my old phone but the one plus drops it and I have to search for a network.

From my observation i have better coverage on my Op3 than my S7 edge with the same Three network.

Did you manually enter the network and apn settings?

no it's already automatic once you put in a 3 sim. also im still on 3.2.1 update as that's the best ROM for me. i get battery drains on the new update

I have registered 4 more fingers, thats 6 in total. When I registered, it worked for few minutes then back to the old. No matter which finger I use it prompts me to enter pin. :(

I have a Galaxy S5 and it has the old style finger print reader where you need to roll your finger. Surprisinly it works 8 out 10 times, opposite to OP3 with doesnt work 8 out of 10 times.

Expected better so a bit disappointed. Other than finger print reader and battery life, rest is all good.

It's kind of making me want a S7.

How do you have 6 registered? It only allows 5?

So, I took insurance out with my One+3 and over 40 days after sending it away. It still has not come back.

I'm lost as to how the reader isn't working for people... Just checked mine there and it didn't fail once in 20 tries with different angles.

I've got my thumb setup twice on it and 3 other fingers and never have any issues with it.

Yeah same here. I've even a big scar going across one of my index fingers and it works 99% of time assuming my fingers not wet or greasy.

Just the wording. Meant to say I have tried with six fingers so far.

No cuts or anything on the fingers. Still the same. Not sure how it's working for everyone else. Just wondering if something wrong with my phone.

I have tried removing and re-registering finger print on different angles. Don't seem to make any difference. Weird thing is when I register I can go on trying for some time and most timess it will work.

Once I put the phone down and try later it will just prompt for pin. How can this happen?

Nothing on my finger and still does not work. I will do a factory reset tonight.

By all accounts so far I'd say it will wow you. Sounds like it's going to be very very good.

The only wow will be the hit to your pocket for what is just a phone.

    Wow.

Well that's true but personally I don't mind spending if it's what I want and I'd say a lot are the same judging on sales. I don't waste money on holidays or cars or kids so I like to get exactly what I want in the thing I use the most.

True enough the main advantage and beauty of Android over iphones is the choice to not spend too much if you don't want to, but the iPhone 7 still looks like it's going to be top class.

    At what specifically?

Genuinely interested how it's 400 Euro better.

Also no the main core reason is its a better OS. Surpassed ios 2 years ago

It's not, if you don't mind what OS you're using, but the poster that asked is using an iPhone 6 and if they like iOS then the iPhone 7 sounds like it's going to be a massive improvement on it. The stuff like the LG style dual cameras sounds great and it's already absolutely storming benchmark tests.

They are still behind Android OS on many fronts can't keep up. Not at the races.

2 gimmicky cameras are not goin to solve that

OnePlus merging Oxygen OS and Hydrogen OS to improve updates

    oneplus-3-gold-aa-17-of-22-840x472.jpg
OnePlus has been shaking the industry from the very start. They offer great hardware at unbelievable prices, but they have been divided in the software department. Literally; they created Oxygen OS for the general market, while their Chinese customers get to use Hydrogen OS. The former offers a much more clean interface that looks very much like vanilla Android, while Hydrogen OS is a tweaked in a heavier manner.

Running separate software versions that cater to multiple markets may be convenient to attract more users, but this equation comes with its downsides. One of them being the fact that efforts have to be divided. This is why OnePlus has decided to bring its software teams together in order to achieve a single, optimal user interface. And it seems the main reason for doing this is improving update times, which they know they are not exactly the best at.

“The main benefit of combining our team resources is to speed up software updates. We know we have some room to continue improving there, and this is an important step in the right direction.”
Bringing their teams together would allow for developers to put all their focus on a single UI, helping them push updates faster, as well as giving them more room for growth and improvements. Bug fixes might be better taken care of, for example.
A big part of the plan is to use feedback from the community to see what features should stay or not. Community Builds seem to be important, as they are allowing OnePlus to evaluate what would be more universally accepted by the general public. Some suggest Oxygen OS 3.5 is our first look at what could be coming from this merger.

“With the community build we are experimenting with new ideas and features, and then using the feedback from our community to refine… In fact, the next versions of the community build will address a lot of the feedback we have already received.”
This might be sad news for those who like the pure experience Oxygen OS currently has to offer, though. We suppose you have consider whether faster updates are more important than a Pure Google-like experience.

    Went from a 6s+ to an S7 and to a OP3.

To be honest the main reason I sold on the 6+ was that I prefer android auto in the car. The camera is better on the iPhone but the OP3 has better battery life, feels snappier and is much more customisable. I don't think you'll be disappointed to be honest. The only real downside with it is the display, camera is up there just misses the edge against the iPhone or S7.

They still haven't added a native blocking option to oxygen despoite it being in stick android. There's a send all calls to voicemail options but I was really suprised.
