Not bad. but not quite what I was after.

    Clue:

    Think Sheffield Wednesday

I've since looked it up and I agree that my answer was inadequate.

The question caused me to recollect a graffito I saw around about that time on a railway station wall on the Hollyhead-Euston line (bearing in mind that Mike's surname was pronounced "Trebilco"):-

"Mike Trebilcock loves the Beverley sisters".

    Hope I'm not banned.

Mods mods, ban him....... Oh I am a mod

All sins forgiven but no rule against googling an answer. Say what you found out.

Thanks for the absolution. While there is no rule against googling there is a code of conduct without which the quiz would be pointless.

Everton won the FA cup in 1966 3 -2 against Sheffield Wednesday. The Toffee's scorers were Trebilcock (2) and Temple.

Indeed you are right young man, well done and pose your question.

If nobody is getting the answer on a straight forward question after a reasonable time a googled answer is perfectly acceptable. :D

Wow! 1 minute! You've just smashed Jellybaby1's record of 4 mins. You know your SI units - not bad for a biologist! :)

    Your serve.

Oh, I'm a lot more than a biologist. We sneer at mere biologists.
I'll think of a question soon.

He was once quoted ( I think it was paraphrase ) as saying " I'm still the greatest, only now I'm more humble about it."
