How are people working out exact IV's? I know there are calculators online that can give a general idea

Downloaded one of those location transporters.

Worked fine for the first few minutes. The location it transfers you to is in New York or somewhere well populated. ........

Then I transported to a location with a snorlax.
    ........
Each to their own and all that but isnt that missing the whole "Go" part of Pokemon Go?

I know its frustrating not seeing or catching rarer pokemons but personally I would prefer to physically travel and find them.
So no Farfetched of Kangaskan for me ever then!

I use a combination of the ingame appraisal and www.pokeassistant.com ,the in game will tell me 66%-81% or >82% using the phrases, then looking at pokeassistant I can see the possible ranges. The ingame appraisal also tells me if their base stats are 15 or 13-14 and in what stat (ATT,DEF or HP) thus I can eliminate some of the pokeassistant options.
Its a bit fiddly but saves me downloading another thing to my laptop.

You should be able to get them when trading is introduced. So keep a hold of your Mr. Mimes!

If you're on iOS as well, there's an app called PokeFind that has an IV calculator, CP calculator and a built in user-submitted sightings map. Fairly decent app to have.

    Level 24. Team Valor.

I'm seriously losing allot or interest in this game right now. I'm debating giving up once I reach level 25.

The new appraisal feather is totally useless. why did they even waste time, adding something that nobody asked for?

The game needs a working tracking system, 1 vs 1 battles etc.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,953 ✭✭✭JamboMac

I nearly feel this game wasn't the end game if you like more to peak people's interest back into the ds games and pick them sales back up.

Do you know what the phrases mean? The appraisals are pretty clear once you know the meaning of the phrases for each team.

The tracking system does work. If you can see a pokemon then you are within 200m of it, then its just a question of triangulating its position. Its a bit more work than 3 steps but it does work.

I was in San Francisco and got to try out the Beta 'nearby' system they have there. Shows pokemon at nearby pokestops, select them and it highlights the pokestops so you can walk to it. This is in combination to the 'Sightings' systems.

It was great at the time, however I feel it was a little too easy to be selective. And this system is unfair to suburban and rural players, unless they increase spawns away from pokestops.

Nevermind rural, just hit suburbs of Dublin or Cork and see stop numbers crash

I've stopped evolving them so now I've way too many candies. Hatched a 10km egg just now and who pops out? Eevee.

Omanyte has probably been my best hatch in the last 6 or 7 10km eggs I've had. Which shows just how bad my egg luck has been.

Similar here. Pinsir, Onix, Chansey, Kabuto and 3 Eevee's. My 8th 10km is close to hatching (today) and Ive given up hope of getting one of the big 3. Im hoping for another Kabuto so I can evolve my best one.

Edit; 8th egg gave me Electrobuzz.....not bad as its only my 2nd one and nearly double the CP of my other one (1187)

    I've only had three 10kms
    Onix, Dratini, and Eevee

    Waste of time

    Lucky egg run?

What's that? Mass evolutions with a lucky egg?

The sightings zone is 12.5 hectares. How are you supposed to reasonably cover that area on foot in an urban setting with no idea of how long is left to despawn? It's fine on long roads with no junctions but otherwise a pure lottery.

Have they given up on the nearby beta? It sounds way too easy and not much fun just going to pokestops to pick things up. Also testing it in San Francisco which is flooded with Pokemon as it is seems a bit pointless.

I haven't seen a Mr. Mime in weeks, used to be that loads of them would spawn around Eyre Square in Galway.

In other news, got my first fighting type pokémon (Mankey), and got my first Voltorb too. Just hit level 21 today, might have a bit of a walk around Galway later to see if I can get anything else sort of decent.

I have no idea about PokemonGo but have heard about them and am wondering if they would bring people onto private land/fields? Have had a couple of sightings of people on my land recently (where i wouldnt have seen them before) and have no real idea why they have been there. Fairly sure theyre not causing any trouble but still its not best practise to have strangers on private land.

10km egg hatched a few minutes ago, another poxy Electabuzz with a lower cp than the last one I got.

Agree with you. It's not a tracking system at all. If something good comes up on the nearby thing, I open the scanner app to get the location. Walking around to track something with no idea if you're even getting further away is a load of bóllocks, especially with the possibility of it disappearing.

Caught my first Snorlax great appraisal but only 775cp.

Basically a mobile game where you can find/catch the pokemon at pre-determined gps locations. Anyone who runs an app like the desktop scanner can see all the spawn points, and yes they can be in fields/public places/peoples own houses/churches etc etc.

I had a ryhorn yesterday 2nd on my nearby, went accross road to petrol station and it popped up. Just measured it there in a straight line on google maps and it was 220meters away (but thats not a path I could have taken).

I believe I got an Omanyte in my last 10km. Another was Eevee recently too. I feel for all you guys/girls getting the same Pokemon again and again in the 10km eggs. I mean, if you're actually walking, it takes ages to even hatch the damn thing!
