    Theres 14 slots there for you to choose from, which is more than enough. Every draft will happen at either 8/9pm in my experience.

    We're running short on time here because therb hasnt come back. I'll close the draft poll this weekend (sunday evening), so if you could all vote, it would be great!

    I'm sympathetic to BizzyC as there was a similar issue last year with a poor spread of time options to choose from. This should have been taken on board and fixed for this year. I hope it will be now.

    My sincere apologies for agreeing with another poster's request that more options be included in the poll to select a draft time, and the serious inconvenience and hardship including those options has caused.

    What I find hilarious is the fact that despite the same conversation about options coming up every year, every year you set the picks to ONLY have 9/10pm starts. They're OPTIONS, including 7/8pm slots doesn't cost anything.
    All your doing by excluding them is making sure there can never be an earlier winner in the poll, which as you've pointed out in previous years, wouldn't suit you...

    Lads, can we for at least one year just get off to a nice start where everyone is nice to each other. The sniping on here is ridiculous. It never entered my mind to do 7pm slots not because I cant do them, I can, but just because I its always a 9pm/10pm slot, it was automatic as every draft I have ever done has been at 9 or 10. thats all it was, not because of my schedule or me trying to force certain times in.

    So come on guys, lets look forward to the season and have fun!

    The draft is supposed to be after the last preseason game but if you want to go ahead tomorrow I guess its ok.

    Look, I'm not put out tbh. If it's tomorrow it's tomorrow, auto-drafting makes no odds to me since I always trade the majority of my roster regardless.

    Only thing I'd point out is that the rules are there for a reason and theyre supposed to be applied consistently across all the boards leagues. If the options had been set properly according to the rules it would never have even come up.

    Anyway, to those live drafting tomorrow enjoy. I look forward to getting started and am hoping for lots of fun trades! :)

    You were not mentioning the rules the other day though before Tuesday was picked, now it doesn't suit you mention the rules, the game is a bit of fun, that's it.

    Im playing boards football 6 years and never knew that rule in fairness

    I run two other money league and we always draft after pre season 3 and before season starts,

    Good luck to everyone anyway and lets have a bit of a buzz this season.

    I think it is best to go ahead with what people have voted for at this stage. Probably too late to organise a new poll.

    From next season we should aim to do the draft after week 4 of the preseason. The reason for this is a lot can happen in relation to injuries or even trades at this stage of the season but as long as people are going in with their eyes open than it is ok.

    I didn't even notice alright. I'm in an awkward timezone so none of the options suited lol

    I'm a stickler for the rules though! Someone has to be in fairness! :D

    All the schedules have been updated, so we're good to go. One small point in that Interceptions were -2 but the official settings has them at -1, so I changed that.

    Also can I ask everyone just to have their email address up to date on nfl.com in case I need to send out a message to the group.

    The draft is always held between the 4th preseason and 1st game of the season.

    The reason the draft is to be held after the last preseason game, is not because of injuries (as most 1st and 2nd teamers will not play) but beacause the NFL teams have not even set their rosters for the season. They will trim from 75 to 53 on Sept 3rd - the draft can't go ahead when a lot of players in the draft won't even be on an NFL team come the start of the season.

    What came in 2nd/3rd place? Why can't we change it to that? 1 day notice to have the draft is not great either, could lead to a lot of no shows.

    ....and just to add, a lot of (relatively) big name players will be part of those cuts - granted, some will land on other teams, but how can you make an educated decision about drafting players when it's not clear who the starters or backups on their own team will be? How can you handcuff your RB or WR?

    sorry now to be blunt, but this is absolute bollox. Not a single starter will play this week, nor did most even play the second half of the third preseason game.

    I put up all the options as people wanted all the options. ordinarily, id have it next week, but the people have spoken.

    It was very clear on thursday/Friday where this was going (i.e. tuesday was looking likely) and nobody said anything. I specifically contacted everyone via pm, to remember to vote to make sure everyone was on board and now this.....

    Thanks for the response Johnny, but it's far from Bollox. If you reread my post I acknowledge no starter will be playing much, but that's not the point. The roster cuts from 90 to 75 won't even be complete by the time we draft, the cuts from 75 to 53 will include lots of players in the draft pool, hell denver's presumed starting qb will be either on a different team or looking for a team to play with come tomorrow....he might start for Dallas....that is one example. Now multiply that over the 1200 or so players that will be cut (or move) before sept 3rd....granted most are just fringe players, but there will be plenty of starters and second teamers moving around who will influence not only their own stats this year, but the stats of the players of the teams they join.

    And for someone to be asking not 10 posts above for people to be civil and to be nice, you could show some of it yourself. I appreciate GMing can be thankless, and I definitely appreciate the effort that goes into it by a volunteer, but it is a big slip up imo, and will negatively impact the draft/league this year.

    I would ask that we reconsider the draft time, it's 9 days before the start of the season - considering we only received 1 day notice for this proposed date, can we not set another date, after the 4th game, which will give plenty of notice to everyone, which is supposed to be the way it was done in the first place, and we will all know who is playing this year and with whom.

    The reason we set the rules and the mods helped do so was to make the setting up of these leagues as fair and as consistent as possible. This is issue is Rule 6 in the charter for a reason and ALL GMs really should be checking the charter and also making sure they are following the league rules are followed including the settings for the league. It is a tough task being a GM sometimes because you have to take time out of your life to help get this divisions setup and everyone is grateful you do so but I do agree with the guys quoting the rules. Just my two cents on this.

    Apologies Pol, I was a little harsh..i don't mean to be go after you or anyone else.

    The majority of people voted and nobody voiced any concerns. It was obvious where this was going last week. 10 people don't have a problem with it which is 66.67%.

    This would have been sorted mid august but unfortunately due to a player joining late, it was done in a rush.

    Just looked and 14 out of 15 people voted for times before the final preseason game. We cant vote and then decide we're unhappy with it.

    I appreciate that Johnny, thanks. Again, I know it seems everyone is pulling in a different direction, wanting their own way and you are in the middle.

    For my own part, I literally just looked at the times (not the dates) and assumed the options were all for the days after the last preseason game...

    Look, I will draft tomorrow if that is what eventually happens - I just don't know why we are backing ourselves into a corner over it. We have 8 days to choose a date, absolutely no rush at all. This is not a disaster, it's been picked up with loads of time to correct and have a normal, proper draft like the other Boards leagues.
