A nice late example. Looks like the cluster has been replaced or its clocked, one or the other.

Clocked with a full service history?

Any chance you could expand on that with some sample running costs? I was seriously considering an S220 S500, but wanted a facelift and none were up for sale :(

    I've had the SL500 for 9 years. It gets a service (oil , filter & plugs) every 6000 miles. I always use genuine parts. Aside from general servicing it has needed;
Front discs and pads €220 + VAT genuine parts. A battery €160. Alternator €400.
Gearbox oil and filter €240 ish. Several foglight lenses @ €21. At motorway speeds it returns 27/28 mpg but 1,000000 smiles per gallon. It's whisper quiet until you put your foot down.

The description doesn't really inspire confidence, not to mention the owner seems to think he has M5 wheels? The tamper dot is showing on the display, meaning the speedo cluster has been swapped from another vehicle or it has been changed.

Could of genuinely been changed didn't that type have problems with the odometer display going. Also the millage is stored in two modules in the car it will show the correct millage but the vin in the clocks won't match the vintage on the car that's when tamper dot comes on I thought.

You can change both.. you can also do it in a way you don't get the tamper dot. So if it was clocked it was clocked by a gob****e

I think late E34 M5 did actually have M Paras so he's right there :)

This non sport sits a bit high on those M Paras but nice car though. I'd still take a genuine Sports thought.

However, I'd probably pocket the €1000 and go for this:

I can't believe how cheap these are getting, looks like I picked the wrong time to buy :/

I saw one of these the other day and couldn't believe it was 07. I would have sworn it was a brand new car as it was absolutely immaculate.

Agreed. It's much cheaper just to repair the ribbon cable in the cluster through than replace the whole thing, but you never know. Replacing it is a much quicker job.

Probably six figures. Jonathan, the owner of Avantgard always has amazing stuff. Anyone who's on detailing world will know Ted, who dresses his cars. It just shows you the market in other countries where the state is more sympathetic to motorist. Check out this lot for more gems

    A BMW 3-series isn't a luxobarge, testyone.

Bangernomics title now says sub 2K as well. No harm really to spell it out for non-regulars.

Is it just me, or are those GS getting better looking with age?

The exterior has aged well without being good looking, in a Bangle kind of a way, that interior not so much.

Could the Saab 9-5 the seller also has for sale be considered a luxobarge too?

    Not by a long shot. It's a 900, not a 9-5. A future classic, maybe.

    Christ..
    Its a 900 for a start.
How in the name of god would that be considered a contender for this thread?
