Heffernan tends to be strong the last 5k. If he can stay in touch he could pass some of that leading group. Not over yet. He may just be keeping to his own pace.

Yeah he's holding the gap at about 5 seconds. Not over yet!

Stephanie Meadow hit 4 birdies in a row, then a double bogey on a par 3

She and Leona Maguire both 1 under today

Diniz should stop, this is very risky forcing himself on like this.

Notice Diniz getting assistance to get back on his feet there. I didn't think that would be allowed, but maybe they make exceptions for 50k walking and marathons?

Yeah wouldn't want him doing serious damage, not good.

Kind of irritating RTE can't show the golf live given they've got the racewalking on both channels. I know it's a big deal, but that's a bit annoying.

25 laps of the most boring stretch of road, god bless their patience.

He's falling further behind sadly. Either his pacing is spot on or he is finished. Hard to see him passing 3 of the top 5 even if one or two 'blew up'. Looks over to me.

Was just thinking the same :( 16 seconds behind the chasing group

Yup, 10km to go and he is 16 seconds off the pack, and 24 seconds off leader.

    6th, but well down

Diniz just stopped again. And restarted. Someone needs to take him out of there. He could really damage himself

Jerry reckons Diniz will be grand in a few hours. I thought the poor man was close to death!
