When I get a notification for Messenger however, I can press on it but it won't do anything. Does anyone know a setting that would cause this?

Enable pop up notification for messenger....goto installed apps select messenger...select notifications..and enable floating notification !!

    Thanks - I've enabled that - now it's just a waiting game until I get a notification.

I have a Custom ROM installed on mine (7.00.99.00)

I tried everything to change it to the standard ones but have had no luck.

Anyone got a good guide to change this particular ROM?. I followed all the steps in MIUI forum but still no luck.

No joy here - notifications for messenger are now floating, but still don't open up messenger when pressed.

You probably meant a vendor rom. Have you tried flashing official rom in EDL mode?

    Another guide to flashing here.

Hows everyone's heating on the phone?

Find the app randomly overheating for no reason

Is there way to cool it down maybe an app

What rom are you using and what app is causing it to overheat?

Builtin Security App (xiaomi.eu rom) (think it uses features of clean master app), has heat notifications options.

Security - Settings - Battery - Heating Notifications.

You should get a notification and then probably an option to cool down. Can not remember using it yet on the device.

Only time my device has got warm was from watching a movie in VR.

Got the Pro Prime a few days ago (SD 850). Got my bootloader unlock this morning and flashed CyanogenMod. Problem is the battery status is stuck at -2%!!!!! Am I in trouble? The stock Miui ROM was showing the battery status fine so I'm hoping it's not a hardware problem. Thanks for any help! :)

Tried it all but still fails.

I checked the unlocking tool and it always stalls at 50%. No one on the MIUI forum seem to be able to solve it.

You can't unlock on a vendor rom, you need to flash official rom by EDL.

Does this phone have OTA updates or do I have to flash a new ROM to get MIUI 8?

What ROM are you currently on?

See: - Settings - About Phone - MIUI version.

MIUI 8 has not been release yet for Global Stable Rom. Edit: It has started to roll out as a beta.
Global developer is on it and you would need to use the updater app to flash that version (If your on Global Stable).

Edit: Miui 8 [8.0.1.0] [5.1] global stable ota link. Different OTA's depending on the rom your device is on.

    I'm on Global 7.5 stable. 7.5.3.0

I don't think I'm even rooted. I've done nothing with it since getting it. I've no interest in rooting, just wondering if it'll update itself eventually.

If your not rooted and still stock recovery, you should get the OTA eventually.

If you can not wait, use the updater app to update with the link above.

Take a backup first just in case anything goes wrong or data wipe.

This heat situation is getting out of hand.

    It's just continuously hot,

Tried resetting it. Still can't put custom ROM on it.

    Absolute nightmarr

Does anyone know anywhere that'll replace a screen on this phone? I dropped mine and it has a thin crack down the screen. Not too bad but kind of annoying.

You can get replacement LCD on aliexpress for about €20, you would also need to source and adhesive layer to stick it down. Check you local phone repair shops if they would be able to do it.

ielectron in cork has a free nationwide collection service. Might be worth sending them e-mail for a quote on it.

    Hi
I purchased a RedMi Note 3 pro in April from Oppomart europe. First the menu button started sticking and now the menu, home, and back button are not working. i contacted oppomart who sent me a link to flash the ROM. I wouldnt have the technical knowhow to do this but could get someone else to try.
I also brought it to a local shop who said it may need a screen replacement which they dont stock.
Just wondering if anyone experienced this issue or could offer advice on dealing with oppomart.

    Thanks

First of all, what rom is the device on? Report what you find here: -
Settings - About Phone - MIUI Version.

Is it the Snapdraggon or MTK Version?

It may have a vendor rom, that is causing problems. Screen might not need to be replaced.

    Good wiki on xiaomi reddit.

What link did Oppomart send you?
