Oh no hope your feeling ok. Crossing my fingers for you.
I've had a bad week, terrible cramping Tuesday! So severe I had to leave work early plus tell my boss disaster! I've a scan next week so going to have to ask for time off for it! Plus try not worry the whole time until it!

Scouse, I had severe cramping in the middle of the night around the 5 week mark on my first pregnancy. So bad I actually had to lie on the tiles in the bathroom because I thought I'd pass out. All was well and it was a textbook pregnancy after that - I think it might have been the uterus stretching or something. So I hope this is the same for you.

How is everyone? I haven't been on in ages, Scousemouse that is brilliant news congrats! Hope you are doing ok!

9 dpo here just back from 2 weeks in Norway it was heaven just what we needed lots of fresh air and hikes and amazing fish! It was nice to be off during the fertile week as it really takes the pressure off. Feeling hopeful but at this point I realise every month my symptoms convince me it's happened. The only thing different was the painful bloating I had for two days that was new! I have a friend staying with me this weekend so that will keep me occupied and if I make it to Sunday with no period will test.

Started looking into acupuncture last month so might do that in a cycle or two if we're still waiting. Anyone had any positive experiences with it? Hoping to see lots of BFP's on here soon!

    Hi everyone,
Total newbie here and just have a quick question.....Where do I start!
Recently diagnosed with severe endometriosis which can affect fertility. But they have told me to try naturally while I wait for treatment of the endo. Have been told I can come off the pill( my pain management) so what is the best way forward? Temping? What kind of thermometer and when is best time to take it. Anything else I need to do? I try to eat healthy and I do exercise regularly. Thanks for any info x

Temping is great, it can be very helpful after a cycle or two to show when you ovulated. You'll need a thermometer that reads to 2 decimal places (basal thermometer) you can get them quite cheap on eBay or Amazon. You can take your temp orally or vaginally, but you must take it first thing when you wake up. Good luck!!

I'm out for another month and I think that's us done for a bit. Contemplating adding another month so we can say definitively we tried for 12 but not sure.
Fingers crossed Meubles, the holiday could have done the trick!!!!
Best of luck GaGa. I also agree re temping, really helpful to see when you have ovulated but you can't tell in advance (well at least I can't). I started with the ovulation kits but they didn't work for me and are very expensive, lots of people find them great though. Got my thermometer on amazon or about a fiver and it came with 10 cheap ovulation strips and pregnancy tests so was a bargain!

Temp dropped this morning so looks like we're out unfortunately. Seems like even when you do everything right you still need that element of luck. Shed a few tears this morning but after some hugs and positive chat with OH feeling better and determined that it will happen soon :)

Decided to give it until January to have had a full year trying as the first 3 months off the mirena I had no idea what my cycle was like so we didn't start getting good timing until the new year.

I def recommend temping GaGa it's amazing how you see a pattern emerge and honestly it saves me buying lost of tests as I can see from my temps if my period is coming and exactly when I ovulated.

Good luck RuaileBuile I'd say give it the 12 months too!

Thanks Meubles, best of luck to you too!

You are so right re buying tests, since I got the hang of temping I haven't had to use any, can tell with the temp drop that my period is coming and I also know my luteal phase length now too. Definitely more economical haha :)

I'm allegedly 13 DPO right now, at least according to Fertility Friend. For the first time ever, I got a solid red ovulation line on the graph thing, as opposed to the broken red one, which apparently means it's more certain that I ovulated when the graph says I did. So broke this month, so I couldn't get any OPKs to confirm on the days I had EWCM. And to add to that, my feckin basal thermometer broke on 4 DPO! I borrowed a one-decimal-place oral thermometer from my mum yesterday, but I've still got a whole cluster of days now where I couldn't temp, so no idea if there's been an implantation dip, etc. Also my sleeping pattern is all over the place at the minute, which I think has affected my temps, because they're very erratic this month (or quarter, in my case :pac:)

My boobs have been very tender, and I'm constantly peeing, but trying not to think too much about it because it's more than likely I'm once again being trolled by my hormones. On the plus side, I'm so broke that I can't afford to go out and buy a whole bunch of tests and torture myself by testing early. Fertility Friend says Sunday is the recommended test day (16 DPO for me) so I'd say even the cheapiest of cheapy ones should be able to pick up something...

I just had a one decimal place thermometer and it worked fine. You don't really need two decimal places. Good luck!

I reckon it'll be grand going forward, just not sure if it'll skew the rest of this cycle seeing as the first 25 days were with the 2 decimal points. I actually like this thermometer a bit better because it's slightly chunkier and the on button is bigger, so it's easier for me to use when I'm all clumsy and half asleep :pac:

Hmmm I think I might be our of the running this time. My temps dropped the last couple of days and this morning's one was below the cover line.

    Hi girls,
Long term user of boards and ttc (although not consistent for last 2 years). Always delighted to hear the positive stories on here. I was referred to Cork fertility centre (CFC) by my G.P. and they confirmed ovulation for February and my husbands semen analysis was normal thankfully.
I will have a HSG text on the 27th of this month and am slightly worried at the thought of it although I know it needs to be done- CFC have said we can start IUI cycle afterwards if we want.
Has anybody had IUI before? I have looked it up online but would love to hear how posters on here might have found it.
    Babydust to all :):):)

Just thought some on here might be interested:

Lloyds chemist in Ballyfermot, Dublin are selling Clear Blue ovulation kits which retails at €134 reduced to €33 and the test kits also on sale at €12.50 and they retail for around €34.

    Hi

If you search my posts I started a thread on IUI when I had it, going through what it entails and all that.

It is a quite non envasive process (compared with IVF anyway!) and I didn't find it difficult or painful. It didn't work for us so we moved on to IVF but I can see that it is certainly worth trying as there is much less to it than to IVF.

    Good luck with it ;-)

Thank you- I found that thread, admittedly after I posted here sorry. It was very informative- thank you so much. Can't wait to get the ball rolling now X

Feeling a renewed sense of positivity this month! I stopped by the doctor yesterday just to query having light periods and they completely reassured me that it is not anything to worry about as long as I am having them regularly.

I have set myself a target of dropping a few pounds over the next 3 months and am going to focus on a super healthy diet, started looking up super fertility foods - I can't believe I didn't do this sooner. Also found a fantastic podcast (I hope it's ok to mention this) called Fertility Friday Radio, they go over in depth what nutrients are the most important and how diet is a key thing to focus on when trying to conceive so far finding a wealth of information around pre conception health. It's interesting that they suggest 6 months to a year of restoring nutrients after being on birth control so hoping in a month or two my body will benefit from these changes!

Ok, my head's a bit melted right now. I took a test last night (well, at about 4am) and there was the faintest of faint lines on it. It was so faint, that if it wasn't for the fact that it appeared within the 3 minutes, I'd have thought it must have been an evap or something. So I took another test this morning with FMU and..... no line! I would have thought that I'd definitely get a line with FMU if there was one to be gotten :o

I took a pic, what do you guys think? The top one is the one I took last night.

When are you due to test Toots?

Good question! I was due to test on Monday, so did that with FMU and it was negative. Then when I took my temp on Tuesday morning, Fertility Friend did that thing where it goes "We've re-interpreted your data and can't confirm ovulation" and I nearly threw my phone out the window. So I figured I mustn't have ovulated, and was going to forget about it, but then I've been feeling tired and weepy for the last few days and yesterday my boobs felt like someone was stabbing hot needles into them. The only other time I've ever felt that was when I was pregnant with my son, so I thought I'd do a test last night.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,948 ✭✭✭✭Neyite

Sounds like you might just need a few days more for the test to show something then. I cant see anything on your tests but maybe in a few days that will change. :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,175 ✭✭✭angeldelight

I think I can see something on the top one alright. Very annoying but all you can do is wait I guess! What sensitivity are those tests?

  • Administrators, Business & Finance Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 16,978 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭Toots

It's hard to see in the pics, but when I have the three tests side by side in the light, it definitely looks to have something on the top one. I think the tests are 10 miU/ml. God I'm so impatient, trying not to let myself get my hopes up in case it all turns out to be nothing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,832 ✭✭✭spottybananas

I can see a line on the top one :)

  • Administrators, Business & Finance Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 16,978 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭Toots

I keep looking at them all lined up :o have gotten absolutely nothing done today cos I'm all distracted. I wonder did Fertility Friend mess up the ovulation date. I mentioned that my thermometer broke so I've a few days after it thought I ovulated where I've no temps. If it turns out I ovulated on one of those days I'd only be about 10 DPO so it'd still be very early for a positive. Well this is going to be the longest couple of days ever!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,043 ✭✭✭✭fits

I think i see lines in top and middle one!!!

Exact same thing happened me toots. Thoight i was dreaming about a line the first day but couldnt stop looking at it. Very faint but there the second day. Then i had to stop testing for four days as i had two job interviews and an impirtant trip to france.

    Oh fingers crossed for you!!

  • Administrators, Business & Finance Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 16,978 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭Toots

No line at all today :( My husband agrees with you fits, and he saw very faint lines on two of the ones yesterday. Would it be possible to get 2 evap lines?

I love this positive vibe. I'm still taking a break for now and starting to feel if I TTC again soon il be more relaxed about it. Oh might check out the pod cast. I guess no harm in loosing a few pounds feel happier and positive about yourself. I'm trying to be really healthy. Plan on upping the exercise. I think no harm in your body and mind being the best they can for conceiving.
