I don't think there is more frustrating Sport to follow than non Televised Sailing!
There is no sport I can think of that is less suited to ANY type of spectating than sailing!!

At least some genius came up with the gain-line graphics for telly viewing, which makes some sense of things.

I am a racer, I run racing, I know racing - and I have sat for long periods on DL pier watching boats careering around the place without the foggiest idea of what's happening or who's where, it could be just randomers out for a spin for all you can tell - except for the close-quarters stuff :D

Here at least they can't crash into you on the pier :D

What's up with the green pool in the diving?

How on earth do the gymnasts concentrate on what they're doing while there are four other things going on at the same thing, plus music which may have nothing to do with what they're at, plus whooping and hollering for various other gymnasts doing their thing(s)?

I have a headache just trying to watch!

How can 3 judges give the North Koreans 9.0 and the other 2 judges gave 3.5 and 4.0. That makes no sense at all.

That Brazilian girl is so TINY

And I'll admit that I know absolutely nothing about gymnastics, but IMO that was brilliant!

Yeh, we briefly considered heading down to Weymouth to support her 4 years ago, then realise it would be easier to follow it on TV!

I think 3 of the judges give marks for execution, and the other 3 score on synchronisation.

Nah there's 5 in execution and 4 in synchro. 3 and 2 get crossed off in each respectively. Huge variation among the execution marks.

Those gymnastic commentators talk some amount of ****e.

Simone Biles "could have fallen off the beam there, but she wasn't going to, she'd made her mind up beforehand".

What sort of a stupid comment is that?

Finally we get to see Simone. The best kept secret in Rio! Some talent. Like the rest of them. They're almost above praise!

    9.45. Did something happen?

The balance beam must be the most freakish level of skill there is. Only 10cm wide. Utterly absurd that they can do all those somersaults on it without snotting themselves.

That is odd. One of the divers messed it up that last dive completely, hard to see how it got two 9.0 scores.

    4.0
    3.0
    3.5
    9.0
    9.0
