I don't think there's anything I hate more than funko pop figures. They look awful and the style just washes out any detail.

At least the Proto one covers up those horrible dead, soulless shark eyes.

Honestly, I think they look pretty good, though I'll never be caught buying one!

I really regret selling my copy of Megaman X back in the day. :(

It was the only game related thing I have sold outside of a PS1 with Wipeout 2097 and Allied General (Had played 2097 to death, Allied General cost me about £1-2 secondhand and was using the backwards compatibility on PS2 for the rest of the PS1 games. Game had some trade-in deal at the time - PS1 with any 2 games for some PS2 games).

Makes for a good thread, might quote this and start one up.

Spike Chunsoft’s English Twitter account has put up a poll asking people if they’d like to see 428, Kenka Bancho Otome, Kamaitachi no Yoru (Banshee’s Last Cry), or Shiren the Wanderer on Steam.

That's Sophie's choice right there. I'd have to go with 428 only because it's not in English yet.

    428 on 39%

Cheers for the replies on that guys. I'll definitely have a look in to the raspberry pi option. Starting to get the hang of RetroPie.

M.A.M.E is giving me a bit of trouble, but that's more than likely down to me using the wrong roms with the wrong emulators. I'm sure I'll figure it out

Yes your version of mame and your version of roms have to match.

Also Retropie has to have a certain version.

That's what I voted for :) as much as I'd like Kenka Bancho Otome, it was tough but I think I'd enjoy 428.

Anybody seen the GPD Win, its the follow up to the GPD XD and its based on Windows and Atom. Due to supply issues they have ended up using the top end Atom processor, I have seen skyrim played on it at a half decent lick.

I think its an ideal retro machine though, 10 year old PC titles and PS2 emulation should be all be possible in a nice small package. Heck you could play MUDs on the keyboard if you were desperate.

Im just worried about build quality, the XD was great but previous machines were less than ideal, and there is a lot computer in a tiny package. They seem to know what they are doing.

The big thing that stopped me going after the XD was lack of bluetooth. Now it can be a portable gaming machine and hooked up to the TV with a few 8bitdo controllers when needed. Very tempted but the price is just a little to steep right now...

Testing out that XCAPTURE-1 device that arrived today. It's hooked up to the XRGB-Mini so whatever that outputs it can capture.

Did a quick test with Sensi earlier, the CD32 is hooked up via S-Video, but the quality is still decent when upscaled to 1080p. No scanlines this time as they look bad on the capture.
I'm quite happy with the captures from it and I can use it to stream or capture the modern consoles as well, if I ever become one of those people(I wont) :)

    Best viewed in 1080p @60fps

Burn:Cycle should never be seen in HD :o
Another test capture using the XRGB-Mini/XCAPTURE-1 combo. Make sure to view in full screen in 1080p@60fps for the true horror :)

It seems the NES Classic Mini will have 3 display modes:

    - A 4:3 Mode
    - A 'pixel perfect' mode, which will display each pixel as a square.
    - A retro 'CRT' mode, which will simulate old CRT TV's.

Taken from an interview on a Canadian radio show with a member of Nintendo Canada.

    You gonna try other games?

    Regarding the PS4
I keep running out of room, so a new HDD is essential.
A cheap 1Tb is probably the way I'm going, though what's the price like on 2Tb drives?

Looking at the storage management screen though, insane lack of rationalisation of some of the games.
N++, a PS4 version of a flash game, also on the DS, takes up 4Gb!
    I mean, what?

Wild thought - Sell the console now while the price is still good for used ones. One the Neo arrives (soon by the looks of it), the price of used non-Neo PS4's will drop significantly imo. I got around €300 for mine (250 or so for the boxed console, 30 odd for the second DS4, & 30 for the camera...so you'd have a very cheap upgrade to a Neo then, which will likely come with a bigger hdd anyway.

Rational thought - I think you're looking at the guts of €100 for a 2TB drive (internal, 2.5").

Summary - if you're going to drop €100 anyway, you might be as well selling up while the price is high & buying a Neo!

  • I'm sure you are aware but Metroid 2 was remade. It's a free download and it's extremely polished.

I really want one but I'll have to wait a bit since I need to get a PS4 for FFXV around the same time.

I'd wait for reviews anyways, the XD is meant to be good but the G5A that I have from them isn't great and 300+ is a lot to spend on a handheld.
It'd be fantastic though if it works out though I wouldn't expect many PS2 titles to work that well.
