I like the soft gold but would like a black face with it.

Is it the full 6GB ram?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,342 ✭✭✭davo2001

8-10 hours of screen on time? I only get 5 to 6 hours

No, 8-10 hours of the phone being powered!

Yeah, just a different colour. I thought the same until I saw a render of a phone with a black front and gold back.

Hi guys. I'm on the lookout for a decent phone, have a vsu6 and while the phone is OK there's a few annoying bugs in it along with some Vodafone crappy apps that keeps reinstalling themselves, can't live with this phone much longer. Have been thinking of going the windows route with a lumia 950 or trying android with the one plus 3, it look very nice but how are people getting on with there's, have seen mostly great reviews on the phone. Would the lumia 950 hold its own against the one plus?

    No, not even close.

I came from the VFSU6 myself (although I wasn't that bothered by the phone, I thought it was quite good considering its price) and the OP3 is miles better and well worth the upgrade.
It's the same screen size but the OP3 is thinner and narrower than the VFSU6 so it's much easier to hold, the screen itself seems dimmer than the SU6 but it looks much better IMO. It's really all the little things that add up to make it a great phone and I would definitely recommend getting it.

Don't most people have covers for their phones anyway?

OK so got my OP3 on Saturday and popped my 3 sim from my OP1 in. Haven't been able to get better than H data connection. No H+ and while I was in a LTE area no 4G. I've tried altering APN settings, switched to sim tray 2 and even got a new sim and it still hasn't worked. I also went into the service menu and made sure I had the correct radio settings. Anyone have this problem with 3? I had no issues with my OnePlus One.

Did you download the os updates? Three didn't work for me until I updated

Yeah I'm on 3.2.2. I also did a full factory reset and set up the phone as a new device. I saw on the OnePlus forum restoring from a OP1 on set up could be an issue. When I did that the 3 APN setting applied automatically. I had previously got a text saying 2 could not download network settings. But still only H data connection.

I was sick of having a grey back and black front. Looks better than the graphite back to me.

I'm surprised you're still subscribed to the thread after your post moaning about others in the thread and the fact someone started another thread. I'm guessing that being a perennial moaner, you ran out of things to moan and criticise there.

I couldn't resist the opportunity to have my say given how you haven't ****ed up about the gold version for weeks. Don't get prissy just because someone disagrees with your taste. I think it looks tacky, you don't. Move along.

I'm with Vodafone and had to contact their support to make sure my account was enabled for 4G. Took 30 seconds then off/on data and now getting LTE. Might be worth asking 3 support.

I've gone from an LG G3 to the OP3 - and I'm with Three. I'm now getting 4G+ and speeds of around 50MB download 40MB upload.

Previously the G3 was achieving 7-8MB download and 1-2MB upload... so definite improvement for me.

If you read my post you'd clearly see I don't have an issue with your comment on the colour. I find your constant moaning and criticising funny. Ironically your whinging and moaning about people discussing delivery dates and now my posts about a gold version would make you the "prissy" one.

It is the OnePlus 3 thread, so discussing the release of a new version is to be expected. I only posted a few pics to let people know that there is another version coming out.

You seem to hate many of the posts in this thread, so maybe you should "move along".

I was getting 4G on my OP1 with the same sim. I can manually select three LTE now and it is staying on. I'm pretty sure Oxygen just calls H and H+ H if you get me. For three anyway. Looking at the radio settings I watched the phone pick up HSDPA and HSDPAP while the symbol stayed as H

Doubtful, it will take a LONG trip around Europe by road.

My phone came from a DHL depot in the UK, when I ordered it back in June. I had it after 2 business days of receipt of the first text from DHL :)

You'll get a text from DHL telling you when it'll be delivered and that a sig is needed.

    Mine left Poznan this morning.

Someone else posted this earlier. Anyone know where it goes after Brussels? Or have a completed tracking history?

To the people who upgraded to the OP3 from the OnePlus One - have you found it a real step up?

I'm trying to justify the €400 upgrade, is the performance boost really that noticeable? The screen doesn't seem to be that big an improvement with the same resolution? Been running official CM13.1 on the OPO and battery is fine...

Came from the OPO to the OP3, worth it IMHO. Although €400 for the upgrade was pushing it a little. The camera is ALOT better on the OP3 than the OPO and the speed is nice, also have 4G+ (using three) now which is nice.
