Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Have my medical on Monday for the 1509 campaign. From what I have gathered by trolling through all the topics of here seems to be calls out every 5-6 weeks. So if call were made end of June I would predict calls going out if any will be middle of August.

  • Registered Users Posts: 201 ✭✭Psni26

If anybody gets a call in the coming weeks post it up gives us an idea when the ball is rolling again, hoping 1405 will be exhausted!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 98 ✭✭Nerves2016

Definitely PSNI - people always seem to post about them

The last set of calls went out on the 21 June and continued to the 1 July.........so if the 4/5 week rule still applies, the next set of calls should be 28/29th July right through to the first week in August seems realistic....

I was being optimistic with this Friday 22nd...but good feeling 1405 will be exhausted!!!

Hi long time lurker here. just want to share this: At a recent medical I was told by one of the medical staff that anybody that has currently passed all stages for Campaign 2 will be getting a call. Dunno how tru this is but I am hopefull

  • Registered Users Posts: 201 ✭✭Psni26

    :) hoping that's true!

  • Registered Users Posts: 84 ✭✭mkelly123

Is campaign 2 1509 by any chance? Have my medical to marrow morning

  • Registered Users Posts: 201 ✭✭Psni26

    No that's 1509, 1405 is campaign 2.

  • Registered Users Posts: 98 ✭✭Nerves2016

So many rumours about calls/campaigns/intakes flying around different board topics....grrrrrrrrrr...I really think its all speculation/educated guessing..PSNI seem to release little or no information and guys in testing, only seem to guess a lot too.....

The wait truly is worst experience.........better knowing whether passed a stage than waiting

Either tomorrow (22nd), next Friday (29th) or Friday (5th), i've feeling i'll be put out of my miserable either way shortly :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 201 ✭✭Psni26

yea I'm being positive!! We should hear something soon!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 98 ✭✭Nerves2016

    No - here's waiting another week as per PSNI26 guess - 29th

After that, it's last chance saloon on the 5th August!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 201 ✭✭Psni26

Calls have went out on tue/wed/thur/fri too

  • Registered Users Posts: 98 ✭✭Nerves2016

Don't be telling me that - i'll be jumping at the private numbers, with nerves every day next week :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 201 ✭✭Psni26

They started on the 22st last month which is a tue!

Well folks, it's the start of another week in the waiting room.
May your wait be short and your phone signal strong.
    Good luck

  • Registered Users Posts: 98 ✭✭Nerves2016

the 1509 medicals appear to be happening......fairly rapidly too!!!

The 1405 calls would need to start coming this week or next at latest.......its the "not knowing" factor of the waiting room!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 36 RTGeorge8910

Is there anybody you can contact to see how long it's gonna be before they tell us about start dates or the vetting has came through?

  • Registered Users Posts: 142 ✭✭C3POPO

    1509 campaign bdw

  • Registered Users Posts: 201 ✭✭Psni26

    This wait is a killer!

  • Registered Users Posts: 98 ✭✭Nerves2016

Possibly the busiest I've ever been in work and all I think off is recruitment / check Boards.ie for an update......just put me out of my misery already :)

On the plus side, I recall lads at my medical and PCA, none of them used boards website so that's a grouping in the same boat without this network support!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 201 ✭✭Psni26

    Maybe thur or Friday!

  • Registered Users Posts: 84 ✭✭mkelly123

I personally think it's to early for calls. I think will be mid August calls with October intake

  • Registered Users Posts: 98 ✭✭Nerves2016

There was talk of a September intake...but maybe it is a bit early, however, rate 1405 recruitment was stepped up, thought it would be fairly quick (5 weeks from last calls which where 21 June then started)

October intake is for 1509 supposedly (according to board comments)

  • Registered Users Posts: 201 ✭✭Psni26

Yea and with the rate that they are processing 1509 I would have thought it be a sept intake but I guess as usual no one really knows!! Lol

  • Registered Users Posts: 98 ✭✭Nerves2016

another day, another anxious wait.......maybe they are waiting to place the most recent people who got calls into GV next week and then issue calls for new recruits!

I don't know how people waited months for calls.....its so difficult putting your life on hold until told your in or your out!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 187 ✭✭TheCub

How much notice do you get between the call and start date normally?

  • Registered Users Posts: 73 ✭✭Life_On_Mars

Usually between 5-6 weeks. It can vary so have a plan in place. You are not commited at that stage so attend induction before quitting your job in a mad rush.

Another reason I think calls will be delayed for another month is due a squad being put back to more a less the start for what is reported as exam cheating( Stating what papers have said). This would cause I delay in recruitment as that squad should of been finished by now and another one ready to take its place after the august calls had went out at the end of june.

    Just my 2pence tho lol

  • Registered Users Posts: 202 ✭✭Tackleberry1

Does anyone know if you can put yourself back an intake? i.e if you have commitments on the date your meant to start? Hoping for an Oct intake if successful!

I think you can put it back. If it was me though I would do everything in my power not to defer. Recruitment is unpredictable and can be stopped/frozen at any time

  • Registered Users Posts: 202 ✭✭Tackleberry1

I will certainly try my best to take the first that i'm offered, Just a lot of stuff on in sept that i literally cant change so worrying a bit on that. I still havent got medical results yet though so could be worrying for nothing haha

  • Registered Users Posts: 36 RTGeorge8910

Same problem as yourself tackleberry. Have a holiday and 2 family weddings so if the induction weekend falls badly for me in sept I will have to defer for a month too! Just want to know what's going on

  • Registered Users Posts: 201 ✭✭Psni26

Are yous in 1405 or 1509? I don't know what's happening I'm in 1405 and just like a sitting duck with 1509being progressed so quickly and a new campaign opening early sept it's hard to tell what's going on!

  • Registered Users Posts: 202 ✭✭Tackleberry1

In the 1509 myself, Im sure it's so frustrating for the 1405 but hopefully you get called in for the early one.

  • Registered Users Posts: 73 ✭✭Life_On_Mars

Have heard the 1st intake from 1509 will be October so you may not have to worry Tack!

  • Registered Users Posts: 202 ✭✭Tackleberry1

Hope your correct Mars! Hate being over confident though, scared I'll jinx myself and fail the medical.

If the intake for 1509 is October when would the induction be? September?

  • Registered Users Posts: 84 ✭✭mkelly123

Passed my medical now 2 weeks.. it's all a waiting game I believe.. no one knows for def when calls go out. I just booked a holiday today for middle of September but if the call comes I'll just change the flights if it clashes with an induction weekend... thank God I work 6 days a week at the min cause as soon as I come home all I can think about is maybe phone call the next day lol

  • Registered Users Posts: 36 RTGeorge8910

There won't be a sept intake. Confirmed this with recruitment on the phone.

  • Registered Users Posts: 143 ✭✭WannabePC123

Just got word I passed the medical so I guess now I just wait too! Lol fun fun!

  • Registered Users Posts: 201 ✭✭Psni26

    Gutted!

Did they mention when they think the next intake will be? Presumably October with calls in September if we're lucky?

You'll be very lucky if you get to defer. A lot of people aren't successful in doing so. I myself had to cancel a holiday to start GV. If you have prior engagements that only last a day or two then you may be granted leave and just make up the missed time on weekends or evenings

  • Registered Users Posts: 98 ✭✭Nerves2016

Absolutely gutted... Its not over till its over folks...1509 is scheduled for October tho, unless they take some 1405ers

hard to believe they put everyone through this (cost, resource etc) for nothing!!!

Did they specify much on the phone @RTGeorge

  • Registered Users Posts: 202 ✭✭Tackleberry1

Couldn't be happier with the Oct intake! Got the email to say I'd passed the medical to!
    Squeeky bum time!

  • Registered Users Posts: 201 ✭✭Psni26

Nobody know for definite if 1509 is set for October either, it's all a guessing game! But i really hope us in 1405 lose out, the 2 year wait is unbelievable

  • Registered Users Posts: 202 ✭✭Tackleberry1

Just glad it's not Sept, hopefully the 1405 get called soon though.
