Rolls get cut in half here :)

Found a hares paw when looking at the heifers. Would that have the same lucky connotations as a rabbits paw? Not for the hare obviously. :pac:

Found a dead hare in the field yesterday, there's a family of sparrowhawks (i think) living in the trees nearby. Would they be able to kill an adult hare?

Never heard of them killing a hare, they're rather small. Could they have found a dare dead on the road and carried it back?

Could be buzzards. We have a few pairs here and I'd say they might be able to take a hare.

No, I doubt it would even try.
Raiding up and down a hedge for small birds is what a sparrowhawk is designed to do.
In urban areas bird tables a great food source for them. Small birds feeding and boom, gone in a puff of feathers.

Buzzards are quare noisy though, you'd know if they were around. If they have young out you'll see the whole family out circling on the air currents mewling at each other.

Buzzards grub mainly on what they find dead or injured.
A fit adult hare would be outta their league for several reasons.
A Golden Eagle would be capable of taking a hare but they're a rare sight in most places.

Seems teaching, can't say I blame her if it's something you could cope with. Just not sure which type of teaching. But then the wind might blow different in a year.

All this after the professional swimming career of course :)

Whatever kind of birds are here are very noisy, they're constantly squawking at other with a high pitched screech.
This is the only pic i have of one of them, has anyone an idea what it is?

    Is that the right picture?

Edit: is it on the road?

It could be a sparrowhawk or a peregrine.
A buzzard is a Brown bird.
