Thanks. Yep, it doesn't matter what network you are on. I just happened to buy mine from Three, turned it into an international unlocked variant, and then flashed the viper rom.

You shouldn't need your GPS on, just location under settings > location.

    Haven't had any issues myself.

The location won't change at all. Weather I try high accuracy or battery saver.

Fixed it!. That was bloody annoying for a while haha.

Took my spigen rugged armour off my 10 today. Usually take it off once a week to check if any crap got around the back.
And while the back was perfect, the antenna bands which I understand are plastic have got worse. There was always a few imperfections that looked like scratches or where the plastic might not have been coated heavily enough but lots of them now. Almost like it's starting to wear out. Like the pics in the link below but worse. Of course the case hides it and I only saw these marks as I was under a bright kitchen light at the time. Seems like a few people have this "issue"

    https://www.reddit.com/r/htc/comments/4iq0qg/htc_10_scratches/

Wondering if anyone else has. Again, it would only be visible under very bright light. My concern is if it wears off so much to make the phone hard to resell or interfere with reception in the meantime.

I think you're worrying about nothing. Won't affect reception or resale value.

From experience, when I sell my phones (and I've sold a good half dozen since I moved to Ireland), people only really give the screen a good inspection, then around the corners.

Posted about this before and thought it was a once off but woke up this morning and phone was at 57%.

Thing is I charged it last night, phone was turned off, and about 20 minutes after green light came on indicating phone was at 100% I turned off charger and unplugged phone.

I checked battery history and indeed it stopped charging at 57%.

So this has happened twice now where phone has only charged a little bit over half and green light has come on to indicate 100% charge.

    Anyone seen this ?

And now another issue. 4G icon on screen but no internet. Chrome Browser says 'Your connection was interrupted. A network change was detected. ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED.

Ok, so maybe there is a 4g issue today but phone is set to 2G/3G/4G/Auto so should drop to 3G or 2G.
I just changed it to 2G/3G/Auto and internet working. Speed test gives around 12Mb/s down from my usual 120Mb/s.
    Very disappointed.

I got the Ice view case after not being happy with the spigen case I had. A bit over priced for my liking but it's a great case and looks great when you double tap the cover.

Cool. Does it close flush for you ?

Also, wondering what spigen case you had ?

Yeah it closes flush. The one thing I don't like about it is that it makes the screen fairly smudgey compared to my old moto g official case which had some kind of felt on the inside.

It was the slim armour. Nothing wrong with it at all, I dropped it a couple of times and it didn't come off to my surprise. I just didn't like the fact that it didn't protect the screen and I have a couple of scratches you can see in certain light because of that.

Interesting. Might look into the Ice View so. Luckily no screen scratches yet, and no protector on it as they are all crap. I currently have the Rugged Armor. Not as protective as the Slim Armor as only tpu but light and slim enough. Was considering the Tech21 case but its at least as pricey as the Ice View, and makes the phone extra wide with it's thick bumpers. Also looked at the Ultra Hybrid and it messed up the camera flash, and finally Neo Hybrid but the tpu was scratched up out of the box and the plastic frame was pretty flimsy.

Just see you can get the Ballistic Jewel on ebay

Looks like great protection and see through. I like it a lot.

As for exact date, probably best to ask Meteor.

Was out with the kids at the weekend using mini go carts, ones you pedal.
Dropped phone out of pocket, and it remained safe in the ice view case...... Even took a go cart driving over it and left a nice wheel mark right down the case. The mark wouldn't wipe off.... Had to wash it so must have gone over it pretty heavy.
Phone is perfect, cover is perfect. Never would know it took a beating.....

Very tempted now by that case. Are Three shops or CPH selling it yet I wonder.

Anyone else getting 'Bug report captured' notifications. Get it the odd time but Google says it happens if you press volume buttons simultaneously. So that could be it.

    Thanks.

Phone rooted, s-offed, and cid changed to HTC__001 to make it an international phone

    Latest Viper rom
    Dark Viper Theme
Red venom status bar and eqs theme
4x2 Clock Mods for HTC Weather Clock
Deniz Rounded Pastel V Icons from HTC Theme store
Header Widgets Icon Size set to large
Status bar clock colour, nav eqs icon colour, set to red #ff930010
Header bar background colour, horizontal eps background colour, set to black #ff000000
    Ambient notifications set to on
Enable APM on lock screen set to on
How are the custom ROMs? I have always found minor issues on each ROM I installed on my Moto Razr Maxx and HTC M8. Minor things like gps problems, setting default app, etc. Glitchy behaviour.
Plus not as easy to apply OTA updates.
So I would be inclined to stick with stock this time. I do like flashing ROMs to get rid of bloat and install stuff like Vper4Android. But not worth it for the glitches.
I will root to get ad blocking hosts file though

Which ROMs are you using? I only ever user Viper, and I don't get any glitches that aren't also stock issues. Definitely nothing like issues with GPS or any fundamental phone features.

Basil3 turned me on to viper and it was my first time rooting a HTC phone. And it went perfectly. Really enjoying it. Also Viper have their own OTA updates where they include HTC's updates. Other things like ambient notifications, being able to customise the pull down tray (system tray), viper dark themes, htc clock themes, custom icons etc.. You still get all the functionality of Sense if you want it, down to Blinkfeed and the HTC Theme store.

Does anyone feel rooting this year was unnecessary ? This Is there longest I've gone without rooting and it's as close to perfection as HTC has ever been.

    Something about sandwiches

I rooted to get better battery life. I get about a day and a half now with decent usage.

BTW, I see Viper 2.6 is out, but is based off a newer radio. Does flashing the new ZIP install the new radio or is that a separate step? And is there a changelog for the changes to the new radio? Thanks.

I cant do without rooting just for ad blocking alone

You would need to update your firmware. Usually you have to be s-off to do that.

    Ye I'm S-OFF.
Do you reckon it's a good idea to update?
The NFC on me phone is atrocious. I'm hoping its a software issue and a radio update will fix it.

I'm updating to latest firmware right now....will let you know if any improvements with NFC

Edit: NFC still a nightmare with leap card, can't get it working. If I try to touch my student ID to the device while it's looking for the leap card, it will make a sound, showing that it's trying to connect. Definitely some kind of incompatibility with the leap card.

Has anyone got an idea of price to replace the HTC 10 screen? Mine fell face down this evening on the floor without a cover... Spider web screen after only 4 days. Gutted. Can't find a price online anywhere. Fantastic phone otherwise. :(

    What's the latest firmware ?

Having a problem with ambient notifications on viper. Black text on black backgrounds and sometimes white text on white backgrounds. But as soon as I wake up the screen it's readable. I did the usual thing in viper settings -> colours, misc etc..

Also, for some reason since latest viper update, the only mobile data that works on VF is 3g. With 4g, symbol still shows but zero internet connectivity. Now it may be a problem with a mast in my area as 3 miles down the road it's grand. But as 2g/3g/4g/auto is selected it should not be showing 4g and drop down to 3g. When I select 2g/3g/auto it works fine, but obviously way slower. Might go back to stock to see what happens.
