Best week of the year. Played myself last night and had multiple "putts to win the Open" LOL.

Bubba looks in superb form. Smashing the driver and only had a 9iron left to the first par 5.

The front 9 scores makes you think someone's gonna shoot a 62, but the back 9 is having its revenge.

Some shocking 2nd shot on 7 from Rory from just 30 yards to pin.
Luckily he got the 15 footer back

Luckily he got the 15 footer back

His pitch landed on the downslope which made it look worse than it was. He seems to be firing nicely now

Case in point, his tee shot on the 8th. Kinda brilliant

Some shot from Rory at the postage stamp. Another birdie coming up

Bubba is going to have some shot out of this bunker coming up.

Some disaster of a hole for him. Just goes to show that you don't need 200 plus yard holes to cause problems.

Sorry - but there is no way that Sandy Lyle should be out on that course with that score.

    Perfect conditions etc.

To think there is some young amateur or qualifier that didn't get in over that. 41 front 44 home.

First Irish man gone - Shane,

He wasn't being shy saying his links game is off - US does rub off on ya.

same can be said about Duval and others, needs to be a ten year limit to the exemption imo.

He's an open Champion - something that young amateur golfer most likely will never be.

It is a big field, there is enough room for tradition and nostalgia imo

If you are not in the top 50/100 in the world, you should have no expectation/right to play in all majors

I'm all for it, it's worth it when you get a Watson like display. It's also a nice way / occasion for former greats to bow out of the game. They've earned their stripes, let the next young thing earn theirs.

Feel sorry for Shane, it has been a rough time since Sunday morning of the US Open.

    But come on.

There has to be a limit.

He hasn't had a good finish since 2005.

For his own pride he should go. I'd say he will.

The back 9 must be some brutal test of golf.
Scott Gregory (Amateur) was -4 after 10 holes and has finished on +7.

Porteous feeling the heat coming back. +4 for his back 9 but it's all down to the putter.
