    Sorry for all the paedophile links, but it's what I thought from the start.
    Me and a friend went into Templebar one night to document the homeless, I was asking permission to photograph them and asking what led to their personal homelessness, mostly it was drink or drugs, but one fella opened up a whole new thing, he was abused by his father and mother, sexually and emotionally, I had a couple of meetings with him after that, he told me about his life.

    This person was taken from his abusive parents and put in foster care by the HSE, while in foster care in a particular house in Wexford he was subjected to serial abuse by the foster parents, a judge, social workers, gardai, and a politician, they were all part of a ring.

    I interviewed the chap and recorded it by video and audio, I tried to hand it into a Garda station on a USB stick and was thrown out by the sergeant and a few rookies.

    Nobody want's to get involved, because they know, it will take the establishment down.

    EDIT: I think everybody must see the possibilities of what may or may not be involved, I'm putting paedophile rings in because I believe that's whats behind this case, I don't know if Mary had sleep-overs in other peoples homes, relatives, friends, whatever, but we shouldn't focus on one person when many more are protecting him, you, we, us, must ask ourselves WHY?, I'm just throwing it out there, all to their own conclusions, but ask ask hard questions, expect the unexpected.

    My Mother just finished watching Gemma O'Doherty's excellent documentary around 7pm and I noticed there was a stupid immature comment from somebody naming the suspect.
    Had a feeling that it might not be viewable for much longer this evening. Perhaps it might be better to close comments when another one goes up, as people are too tempted to name names.

    I seen the documentary last week, and It was the first time I actually was made aware of the details around this case. I had previously heard about this case in the news in recent years, but I had never remotely been aware of any kind of cover up. The documentary I watched didn't name any names of either the suspect or the politician.

    However I think myself and several others who watched it at different times last week had very similar theories as to whom the suspect in this case might be, we all seemed to form the same conclusion, maybe that is due to us watching too many police shows these days.

    A little girl was likely murdered here, regardless of what her Mum wants, this must be investigated properly and all suspects must be spoken with and looked at closely.

    A few days after the Sunday World had given the Gardai the "new" information a team of officers and a JCB arrived and dug, spread, turned and patted down with the JCB a quarter acre of land around the 4ft X 2ft spot, effectively destroying evidence that they had ignored for 36 years.
    The Gardai refused to give any statement on the dig/destruction.

    The boggy land would have preserved any DNA and forensic evidence.

    An ex Garda, retired Garda Sgt Alan Bailey slammed the dig.

    I can't find the Sunday World article I first read after the dig online, but if the paper is still lying about I'll photograph the article and post it up.

    I've so many questions in this case, to me it seems the Gardai or some senior member(s) has something to hide, why would a spot found 2 days after her disappearance with brown hair coming from the ground NOT be immediately cordened off and forensically investigated?

    WHY did the Gardai use a JCB to dig, turn and spread, then pat down a quarter acre when the 4ft X 2ft area had been pointed out to them on numerous occasions and coincidently also the exact same spot showed disturbance when X-Ray'd?

    This can't be simply a case of Garda stupidity.

    I really doubt they knew this was a child or even a woman but my guess this information would be that they though this was the IRA and donegal at that time was very pro IRA maybe members of the gardai thought this was linked to another ira murder (maybe it was) and destroyed the evidence.

    I misread the OP i meant maybe they did respindle and it had some link to the IRA so they destroyed the evidence. This is a conspiracy theories thread it's commonly known the IRA buried a lot of people in Donegal and that gardai were very sympathetic to the IRA with many of them working with them, maybe it was destroyed to cover the IRA and that it wasn't even the young girl there who the OP mentioned and it was someone else. Then again don't shout me down on it it's just a conspiracy and I'm just rambling.
