Well it's a small app so it's easy to see where it all links together. There's nothing dodgy about the app/source, at least from the admittedly short (& drunken) glance I had at it.
The only unknown is whats on the other end of those IP addresses.

Without getting into a big debate on open source code, the benefit here is that you can literally see every line of code. OK so you need to be a software engineer but we're getting very common these days so one is always about to give the code a once over.
Also, it's easy enough to learn how to download and run the code yourself and install it on your phone, so you know the code you see on GitHub, is actually the code that's running on your phone.

But yeah, there's a reason why people support open source (actually there's many reasons, but this is one).

On VPNs in general though, you are basically trusting these companies with your data, depending on their level of security. But its up to you if watching that extra episode on Netflix USA is worth it! :p:p

Also, on that note, is there any apps where I can stream Netflix-style apps while simultaneously casting to a smart TV, while still being able to use my phone (ie not screen casting)?

Can I PM you the source code to VPN's website?

I gave that an honest go, paid for the full version then went back to Swype a week later after it drove me mad

I've been using Adguard the last few months with good results, it uses a local VPN to filter data for browsers and apps. Removes ads but also optionally social-media buttons and the like. You can configure a firewall so that some apps are left alone, or are filtered only on mobile data etc. Also filters https traffic (youtube ads for example).

I started using it when those spammy popup virus ads were proliferating on ad networks. Highly recommended.

    Adguard is excellent.

My OH got a new Huawei phone recently and is of course devastated that her keyboard has no emojis, what would be a decent keyboard to download for her?

    IMO Swiftkey is superb.

I think SwiftKey got a bit clunky over the years. After using SK for a long time, I've been using Google Keyboard for the last few months and can't see myself changing. It just works really well (and for the OP, it has full emoji support too).

Clunky ? I can't say that I have noticed any difference.

Yes, I signed up for it. I like the interface a bit more than spotify. Had the 3 months premium for €1 pm then the Deezer offer showed up. I'm happy with it so far.

Can it be used after already having had the 3 month offer?

Use a different email account than you already used!

More discussion in the Three Thread.

    For SMS I use Disa.

You can add SMS, Whatsapp, Facebook Messenger,... messages all in one app, and it's pretty lightweight.

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.disa&hl=en

    Discogsappicon.gif

Discogs - Catalog & Collect Discogs

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.discogs.app

    ---

Official Discogs app. Not bad. Avoids being a URL portal/frame for the website, unlike some of the unofficial apps.

I buy on Discogs mainly, but it does everything that I need. Try it out.

The same guy that created the brilliant Oo and Hook has a new game out called Klocki and it's another quality puzzle game. Just when you have a mechanic figured out, he'll introduce a new one. Very clever, relaxing, and you'll get change from a euro too. Can't go far wrong. Grab Hook too if you haven't got it!

A million thank yous heading your way. :)
I am really enjoying this. I was at a funeral yesterday, and drank more than my body allows. Suffering today, and got this - perfect.

    Again, thank you sir. :)

    Lost journey - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.dreamsky.lostjourney2

Probably worth it for 10c. :)

Being using google photos a lot more now its fully backing up all my pictures and videos (before it randomly skipped some)

Apart from the obvious backing up your pictures and videos it’s great for automatically making films, animations and collages from them. You get a notification and then save to library and can go onto the site and download them to your pc.

I was at the bray air show and it made a great video about a minute and a half combining the pictures and short videos into a great snapshot of the day. Handy to look back on or to share to people who don’t want to look at hundreds of pictures and then videos

Yeah, I love it. I've backed up all the photos I had on my NAS too. Over a decade worth, great being able to look back so easily.

I have almost 20,000 photos from the last 10 years saved to 100 albums (based on events). It took a long time to do, but I love it. Absolutely totally worth it.

Do you need a Google+ account to use Google Photos?
