He has been an abysmal President. Here's a bullet point for you, after eight years of Obama in charge, race relations in the US are at an all time low. It's the one subject that you could argue he election was specifically intended to address and he dodged it at every turn. Shameful man.

Yeah. America's vestigial racism is all Obama's fault.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Here's a rather damning leader in a British newspaper about the pent up racism that has been part of American society almost since its beginning as a British colony. Headline "A Democracy as Racist as America will Never be at Peace!"

And before you think in stereotypical American disparaging terms that it must be the work of a "leftist liberal Euroweenie pantiwaist who would probably be speaking German if it weren't for us" this actually comes from the Thatcher worshipping, empire nostalgic, Special Relationship upholding, Brexit promoting Daily Telegraph.

Seriously though are we getting this backward, the biggest gap here is the gender ratio rather then the racial ratio, yet no body cares too much. Any feminists who care about equality on here want to comment on the fact that men are 21 times more likely to die from a police officer then a female?

I suppose they are to busy hunting down male pronouns in University lectures.

Well maybe if men didn't commit so many crimes and weren't historically the most likely people to kill or injure a police officer........

And where did I claim that exactly ?

And I believe figures i gave are correct from July to July

When you were asked to back up your claim that these shootings of innocent people reaching for their ID were a ‘regular’ occurrence you pulled out the figure of 1600 to justify it.

So now that you have accepted that the 1600 figure is both incorrect and doesn’t prove your point, can you please provide some evidence that the shootings of innocent people reaching for their ID is a ‘regular’ occurrence?

Oh, I agree. Men are generally more aggressive then women so its no surprise to find its higher. I just find the hypocrisy and political virtue signalling diabolical.

"suspect killed by police bomb - identified as 25-year-old Micah X. Johnson in US reports - died as police detonated a bomb attached to a robot after talks had broken down. Johnson has no known criminal history or ties to terror groups."

It will be interesting to hear more about these people. They're not religious fundamentalists, it's yet to be seen if there are mental disabilities. These could be ordinary Americans that have taken a logical decision to take up arms.

Am I wrong in saying it would be the first time a black American has taken up arms against the American government in the entirety of the civil rights movement since slavery ended? African Americans have had one of the most peaceful civil rights movements the world has seen, especially considering they were one of the worst treated. Is this a minority saying we've tried peaceful protests and it hasn't worked?

RIP to all the murdered officers/civilians.

It's a worrying level of escalation to start seeing retaliation attacks.
Which from the information released so far is what it looks like.

I can only see this leading to more nervous police officers nationwide.
Which is bad news for everyone.

Bar various riots that took place from the 60s -90's can't think of any uprising or specific up take of arms by African Americans .

I can see it eventually coming to a head we see the first black president and yet racism seems to be increasing to the point of becoming mainstream again

I really believe the media is just causing a **** storm. I don't even think they're doing it on purpose.

People have loads of information but little education on how to use it.

As has been said a load of times already, the biggest surprise here is that it's taken so long for something like this to happen. Things have been at boiling point for years now. I fear this is just the start of it coming to a head.

"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable"

Pretty apt given this happened just down the street from Dealey Plaza

The media is driven by ratings and sensationalises everything. Depending on the network they’ll lean to one extreme or the other, which just divides the population more.

Add to that a political discourse where both sides prey on class and race divides, it ends up with a country that only see what separates each other.

One of the issues is various groups been marginalised in the media and labeled as poor Joe whether it be white ,black ,Mexican ,immigrants .
Jobs are going to immigrants uunemployment is on the rise but wait unemployment is at a low of 4.6 % .
This black muslim president only cares about black Muslims.
Whites feeling the same because the black president doesn't care about whites .
Meanwhile majority white congress doing there best to shut the black president down for the last how many years .
All adding to a simmering pot and that's a before we get to all the other issues .

We've a sexist racist presidential candidate whipping up mass hysteria over Muslims and Mexicans he's going to build wall a big wall a fantastic wall a glorious wall .And ban Muslims from america .
And his white supporters believe that they are under attack from various sources ,

We've seen terror attacks multi mass shootings from sandy hook to the pulse Club shootings and noting has changed america is just becoming more and more divided

The Black Panthers were a group that killed white people back in the 60's. Black males make up under 7% of the population but carry out just over 50% of the murders. I guess they should be let free for fear of increasing the prison population.

One reason why Sanders and Trump have been doing well in America is because people are angry with the government. Look at Obama saying the unemployment rate is below 5% while laughing into the camera but yet in reality it's closer to 20%. Labor force participation rate is at 40 year lows while millions of unemployed Americans are excluded from the unemployment statistics. But hey let's believe the lies of Obama and the elite controlled media.

Apparently some forces only apparently don't record police shootings or at least won't make them public .

The Guardian newspaper runs its own database,
The Counted, which tracked US killings by police and other law enforcement agencies in 2015, and counted 1140 killed, with rates per million of 2.92 for "white" people, 7.2 for "black", and 3.5 for "hispanic/latino", 1.34 for "Asian/Pacific Islander", and 3.4 for "Native American". The database can be viewed by state, gender (1086 male, 53 female, 1 nonconforming) , race/ethnicity, age, classification (e.g., "gunshot"), and whether the person killed was armed (853 armed, 224 unarmed).[6] The database has continued to add new cases into 2016.

How many countries do they do this for?

Do you have something to back this up? That Obama is a Muslim. Or perhaps it's better expressed in the conspiracy theory forum.

Only America, the Guardian is clearly Anti-American and always sporting the politically correct agenda. Any media outlet that employs Owen Jones is clearly pushing an Agenda. The Guardian is to the left what Fox-News is lampooned to the right.

So where will we find the official government figures for the number of people killed by the police and the reason for the killings.

We know how much Obama likes his beer, both while travelling and at home, even going so far as to brew beer in the White House. So, if Obama is a Muslim, he's not a very good one ...

Daft statement. Don't mistake opinion pieces for news. Fox doesn't even do news right never mind opinion.

Does any other first world country have enough death by cops to make statistics (barring countries like China where any statements has to be treated with suspicion) reliable?

I mean part of this is that it happens in the states more often and part of it is the larger population allowing you to do it.

So Lt Govennor of texas Dan Patrick called last night's protesters hypocrites for expecting the police to protect then when the shooting started because they were protesting about police violence .
“All those protesters last night, they ran the other way expecting the men and women in blue to turn around and protect them,” Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick told Fox News. “What hypocrites!”

He also said the police could stop protecting them if the harsh language and violence towards them doesn't stop,

So rather than call for peace and unity he seeks to alienate those voicing there 1st Amendment rights which he claims to be a defender of

Loads of muslims drink beer. Including devote muslims. Many in the arab countries because they're rich and spoiled. And many in the west because they are to Islam, what the Irish and Americans are to Catholicism.

Two other Policemen shot and wounded today in Missouri and Georgia on routine traffic stops... One critical. Not a job I'dbe looking for in the States.
