CNN is saying 2 officers shot. According to people listening to police scanners it's 4.

    One officer is dead.

As well as the officers that have been shot, and one killed, there were claims some other people were shot.
All this needless violence needs to stop.

Make that 10 officers shot, 3 dead officers, and 2 snipers involved.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,782 ✭✭✭✭RobertKK

I wonder if this is terrorism that took advantage of a protest?

Just heard there that it's 10 police officers have been shot and at least 3 are dead. Two snipers were in the area. Absolutely crazy stuff altogether.

Terrible situation, and the people responsible are on the loose.

That's what I am wondering. Witnesses identified AK 47s with about 60 shots. It seems too coordinated to simply be angry individuals.

Saw the bbc headline of one officer killed but reading the above it sounds like more than just protest

Latest update is 11 police officers shot, 3 killed and 8 wounded.

They are still shooting police officers. I think this would be considered an act of domestic terrorism at this stage. Dallas police have released a pic of one of the suspects.

Now the police are saying a bomb may have been planted, it just gets worse.

That woman is remarkably calm as her partner dies on the seat beside her. I don't doubt she's in shock, but I wouldn't be sitting there filming by OH's last moments with a running commentary. Very odd behaviour (and scummy policeman obviously).

I think it's shock. I have seen people fall to their knees when told someone they know has died. I can't imagine myself ever behaving that way.w e are all different.

She seems intent on filming and stressing what happened, probably as she knows how important the footage will be if he dies - and getting justice is obviously important.

Really sad and shocking video. May he RIP.

Eh...is that a pic of the suspect with a rifle strapped to him in military camo?

    WTF?

    This is beyond fûcked up!

    4th officer dead.

He's a person of interest. Not confirmed he was the shooter. I don't think he was. I find it odd that he would open carry (considering that one of the men killed had a gun license), smile while marching, and allow his photo to be taken.

They are now reporting on MSNBC that the brother of the dude said the rifle was unloaded and the dude turned over his gun when the shooting began.

Not involved apparently. Video shows him with the crowd while the shooting is happening. Perfectly legal to walk around with a rifle in Texas

It's weird alright. Never seen a rifle but I've seen people doing their shopping with a handgun strapped to them. Don't think I'll ever get used to it

Was it an assault rifle he was carrying? It's ok to carry a rifle
However, a person may carry, either open or concealed, in a non-threatening or alarming manner, a shotgun or rifle.

Apparently he handed his gun over to the police when the shooting started to make it clear he wasn't involved. He'll be getting a big settlement for their mistake I'm sure!

The Gun carrying Camo clad guy has hand himself over to the cops ( for his own safety I say ..with his face all over CNN and Fox)

One can't say from an image.
    Could just be a rifle.

Assault rifles are comparatively rare & I'm 99% sure are illegal nationwide.

Sort of depends on what you mean by assault rifle, full auto versions are illegal but semi auto or bolt versions of military weapons are often legal.
