BS! If that were the case the other Irish(inc former) UFC fighters would be well off. I know for a fact Seery has a day job, I'm not sure about the others but don't think they'd consider themselves flush

Not fighter bashing at all I really like Seery.

But if he was winning every fight he absolutely would have mcgregor level support.

If there's one thing the irish do well it's band wagon

    Conor will lose..

    He can't knock him out..

Course he can. The best shot Conor threw cut him pretty bad. One or two of those on his jaw/chin and he'll go down. Just like he did when hit with Josh Thomson's shin. People seem to be forgetting just how much power Conor has in his left. Just because he didn't utilize it well in March doesn't mean he won't come August.

    McGreg.gif

    he can't submit him

Au contraire. No fighter is above being submitted given the right set of circumstances.

Even golden boy Nate Diaz once tapped out faster than McGregor did in their fight.

    Natee0d58.gif
and he has no chance on points

He gassed after a round and a half and had a full camp

McGregor has been in fights where he seemed to spend more energy over more rounds and didn't appear nearly as fatigued. Perhaps he is right and it was a combination of over-training and poor diet leading up to the fight but I think there is more to it than that and it is why he immediately wanted a rematch as he knew that it was something quite easily addressed or which would not be an issue at another juncture. An infection maybe, who knows, but either either way it was not the norm for Conor to gas out like that. Loading up on missed shots and attempted head kicks goes some way to accounting for it but I still feel there was something else going on there.
    Diaz had two weeks notice,
Does anyone seriously think he will be able to match Diaz cardio this time ? if so you need your head checked,
Diaz never spared for the first fight so his timing was off this time he will be so much better prepared,
    It won't be close

If you believe that you'll believe anything. Nate called out Conor from the octagon a few months before the fight and is on record as saying that UFC calls him everytime a fighter pulls out on McGregor and also made it very clear that he knew it was just a matter of time before they fought. You really believe that given all that, he didn't train to fight and instead went off and partied? Two weeks before the very fighter he called out was set to fight?? A fighter with which it was now common for their opponents to pull out close to fight date?? Come on, what the hell would the point of calling him out have been then.

Lets be honest: Nate chilled for a day or two and had a tequila. Sounds relaxing if anything. Certainly seems like less taxing fight prep than guzzling steaks for breakfast and over working muscles a week before a fight, that's for damn sure. Nate was in peak condition, or as close as makes no difference anyway. He was fight ready. This is also the guy that keeps saying every fighter should be prepared to fight on their worst day and also points out in interviews that he often "trains harder" when he is not preparing for a fight than when he is. Yet then out of the other side of his mouth he claims that Conor wouldn't have landed a blow had he had a full camp.

In any event, this crap about him being off on vacation partying needs to stop. It's absurd. Especially considering it's a Diaz, fighters who are renowned for always training and focusing on their diets. You'd swear the way people are going on that he was in some crack house, knee deep in veggie kebabs, surrounded by empty bottles of El Jimador when the phone rang and Dana asked him to put down the spliffs, Conor wants to fight you. Please. Either way, come August 20th, he's gonna get his ass kicked.

You really make awful points all the time in your blind McGregor love.

Let's looks at it more objectively.

Yes it's possible Conor can knock Nate out. However Nate has taken shots off bigger guys and not been ko'd so it's unlikely.

You seriously are bringing up a 10 year old fight vs a guy who is known for his submission wins as being any way similar to Conor submitting Nate. There is close to a 0% chance of this happening.

Him gassing was very strange, bit of a jump to assume he had an infection through.

So now Nate had a better prep for the fight than Conor because he was chilling out. Wow maybe every fighter should try that, save money on fight camps.

Seriously the hyperbole on both sides needs to die down a bit in fairness.

    But this statement is ridiculous

Personally i don't give Conor much of a shot at all and disagree with most of Cathys points but the one of the fight prep. i think she kinda has a point.

Nate even said it himself i think that when he has a long time to prepare for a fight sometimes it can be worse,Bisping said similiar and look how good he looked coming in on short notice his hands looked heavier from the minute the bell rang and he was more relaxed.

Now i am not saying fighters don't need camps or camps don't help but i think Nate wasn't far removed from his Michael Johnson fight at 55 where he looked in the best shape of his life,he no doubt was keeping in shape and close to be able to make the cut for 55 sooner rather than later.

Often there is benefits to a short notice call,no opportunites to overtrain, possibly pick up little injuries in camp, less pressure etc in Nates case i don't find it hard to believe the short notice was an advantage for him.

If you think there is a chance of Conor winning by submission you should stick a few euro on it at 25/1 on paddy power. :pac:

It's pretty clear from the way the fight went down that Conor was not in the shape of his life for the Diaz fight. There was definitely something off with him to gas like that after 5 mins, overloading on shots or not. I would not be surprised if the rumours of a chest infection in the lead up were true.

Did Nate land one hard 1-2 before Conor was tired? not that I can think of so there is reason to believe if his cardio holds up he can outstrike him but thats the question,

You see big muscley fighters gas the likes of Brandon Thatch,Abel Truijllo,Vitor, kimbo and so on gas but to me he was done on the stool running on fumes going into the 2nd round, could be from winging punches or lack of prep but you'd expect him to last more than 7 minutes without being done completely something wasnt right there.

That's where I noticed it too. You can see how hard he's breathing when he's sitting on the stool, & the look on his face is anything but relaxed/confident/enjoyment.

compare it to him in the siver fight, his demeanour was completely different, even against chad he was visibly a lot less tired between the rounds

He also started shouting at Nate coming out for the second that he could "go all f***ing day". Id a feeling he was done then, i mean thats fine aying that going into the 4th/5th round, but coming out of the first? You should be feeling relatively fresh!

What time (Irish time) are the pressers this week on for 200 Weds and McGregor/Diaz Thurs.....and will they be on the usual utube channel

I think his fight preparation was terrible for that fight, eating and doing Ido Portal stuff right up until fight night.

But in saying that i think also you have to factor in the extra effort it took for him to land a punch he was used to having big reach advantages and just landing without effort,he missed a lot of shots in that first round and the extra effort it took to land on Nate was also a contributing factor.

Can't understand why he isn't sparing against Nates body type. Reach and distance is what caused him to over exert and miss alot

He is, he is bringing Conor Wallace to LA for camp.

I supose at that stage, he'd two battles on his hands. One standing in front of him, & the other, his brain screaming at his own body to stop. Perhaps shouting things like that were his way of trying to win the mind over matter battle, rather than being a message for Nate? Only he knows really.

By all accounts Chris smacked him around for fun for the majority of their sparring sessions. Not surprised Conor edited the footage to make him look better.

It's a highlight reel of sorts for Conor's fans. Why would they do anything other than to edit it that way?
