Helwani got a great cheer from the crowd as much as the fighters. Nate threw the mic away at the end cause it sucked. Conor agreed that the mic sucked. Dana used the mic excuse maybe 1 or 2 times to dodge a question and then other than that Nate a big boy.

Oh Dana kept his stubble so it looked like he was up all night for worry for DC/Jones

Nate gave out shíte about the mics and Conor laughed in agreement, that was about the best part.

Terrible press conference, zero banter between the 2 unfortunately.

At least the 'can't stand McGregor cause of all his s**t talk' crew will be quite now.

Maybe what we saw yesterday is the new McGregor. He's going to boring now too.

The audio quality was terrible and Nate clearly couldn't hear anything over the PA, which was strange because Conor seemed to be able to hear all of the questions. Point is, it's hard to engage in banter when you can't hear what the other lad is saying. Bit of a shame because they had some good aul banter before the previous fight.

They are professional fighters not circus clowns

They conducted themselves professionally tbh, niether looked to be waffling or Sh** talking.. They both seem more focused and both have a better understanding of the preparation their opponent

Both men are taking the fight seriously.. Which is good imo... Conor got a well needed reality check at 196...showed in the press conference

Gives the fight more legitimacy I think

Ah in fairness..McGregor is close enough to a clown at times..shock of red hair..stupid haircut..ridiculous dicky-bow..funny fake accent..stupid shoes...spends a lot of time falling over..desperate need of attention..etc..

McGregor seemed to be trash talking Dana and the UFC, not Nate

I thought that too. I noticed the 2 didn't shake hands and no matter what Conor said Dana just looked stonefaced, maybe he couldn't hear or maybe he was just being selective with his hearing because he seemed to have no bother with most things.

Hard to know what Dana could do, getting into an argument with McGregor at the press conference wouldn't be a good look.

Ack no he's not going to do that.. It just reminded back to Tito days in UFC when he's was slabbering during a presser and Dana was stood at the podium trying to avoid making eye contact with anyone and looking at the roof :D In the past with all of Conors little jokes & jabs Dana was p.ssing himself at most of it.

You could tell to that Conor was trying to get a reaction out of Dana, like when he was asked about UFC200/Jones situation and he grinned and said "All they need to do is ask!" and stared up at Dana :D although he did seem to take the bulk of any blame over the "communication" that stopped him from fighting this weekend

Yeap, its actually quite annoying as well as embarrassing for UFC as this isnt the first time that the sound has been pants at the press conferences for a billion dollar company they cant get their comms in order.

In fairness he did say a couple of things in the UFC's favour also. One of which didn't exactly put John Kavanagh in a good light. After being asked for his reaction on Jones, in the context that he and Nate were supposed to headline 200, he said he could easily sit there and say 'Well, well, well..' but that he wouldn't as successful people shouldn't take advantage of other's misfortunes. To me that made John Kavanagh look quite petty. He also wished the UFC well sorting things out and noted that they were running around like 'headless chickens' attempting to do so.

For me the best thing was that he finally got to say things which should shut the mouths of the fools once and for all that were saying that he didn't attend the Vegas presser cause he was scared and he also said more than enough to quieten the nonsense suggesting he should have his belt taken from him. The tongue in cheek 'all they gotta do is ask' regarding him fighting at 200 was funny. Pity Nate heard none of that as his response would have been good no doubt.

I thought so as well. I presume you are talking about the part where he spoke about wanting to be with his team mates in the aftermath of the death of Joao Carvalho and how witnessing that event affected him at that time, particularly given that a team mate and close friend was involved. Certainly an admirable and very human response to such tragic events.

Absolutely. He said similar in the ESPN interview also but they didn't air it and so many would not be aware that he did so. They wrote about it though in this ESPN article where they noted he was still, understandably, reluctant to speak about it, perhaps why they didn't include it in the aired portion.

I also thought it was quite decent of him to concede that he didn't perhaps communicate too well to the UFC regarding the real reasons why him and his team had wanted a little more time back then. Personally I thought that was obvious from watching events tbh as no comment from them seemed to refer to him or his camp having things to deal with. It was pretty much all remarks saying he wasn't coming because he didn't want to come, end of story. But like I say, it's nice to see him take some of the blame for that less than ideal communication.
