the ****ers have actually blocked ssh , they blocked irc ports and ssh ports on a friday afternoon... came back on monday and irc was unblocked, but ssh was still gone..

Are you on a network that is behind a firewall? They could have blocked the necessary ports.

multiple reaons ... your route to network is broke ...
either network down, or the particular server your trying to use is broke.

give it while, try again, try reconnect to isp...

ftp ; sounds like yer isp is feic'd tbh ... reconnect may fix it ... make sure addy yer putting in is correct.

right find a site which provides CGI;IRC

or put one up yourself [cgi irc available on sourceforge]
web-based irc, which uses port 80 & only http requests/data to connect to irc, bypassing firewall/other blocking crap [provided you can access the site normally]

Doubt it, tho, as the fcukwits have been stopping mIRC access fer the last couple of days, on and off.

would just like to point out that mirc DOES work, you just have to connect to the right irc servers and to setup mirc properly
download from www.mirc.co.uk
Mirc Options > Connect > Firewall > You should now see the page for configuring for proxy support.
Change firewall support ( little pop down box ) to server.
Change protocol ( another little pop down box ) proxy
Change the hostname to proxy ( your gonna have to type this in )
Change the port to 8080 ( you gonna have to type this too )
The server that i used to connect to today was sorlag.splatterworld.de
Your gonna have to type "/server sorlag.splatterworld.de" to connect to this
sorry for the detailed but retarded instructions but its just incase

right well, as quakenet dont seem to like our carlow ip address and all the users ( clones ) we have on it, i think its time to change server to something more reliable that will not g-line us all the time.
anyone got suggestions for a server? ? ?
