Solar Eclipse - From here to enlightenment?

I remember hearing it on the radio years back and the DJ coming on "Yeah, not going to be saying the name of that one on air" like we were members of a secret society or something (I had a copy at that stage).

    Hi everyone

Here's one I'm after for years:

I'm reposting all the details here, with a recently remembered
fact that the song was on a pirate radio station in Dublin in
the summer of 1997. Does anyone know the station I'm on about?

Some songs that were also played on this station:

    The Shrink - Nervous Breakdown
    A total techno banger - non=stop action.

Submerge Featuring Jan Johnston - Take me by the hand
They used to play a reall cool long mix of this track.

    ?? Unknown artist - Fever -
This was a really sexed up cover of the famous
Peggy Lee track "you give me fever..."

    My Mystery song:

From 1996 - 1998. It used to be on a Dublin pirate radio station
I used to listen to in the summer of 1997.

It contained a sample of a fax machine type sound

It is defo not "Fax You" by "KK System" or "Burning Vinyl" "Fax Me Up"

Mr. Spring might have had something to do with it.

All I remember is that there is a sample of a fax machine in it, and I think
the word fax is in the title.

Maybe it wasn't a fax machine, but it was a sound like a fax.

    It was like:

    be-de-beep-beep

    be-de-beep-beep

I know I'm clutching at straws, but I'm desperate

    Thanks

    B

Can't help with your mystery track (although it certainly sounds a bit familiar) but this one is by S-J

TdV remix probably (best one) love those frantic rising chords. I miss the 90's :(

    Might be this one,

Neither of them is the "Fever" song :(

The Fever song was a cover of the Peggy Lee song "Fever"
It was a very sexed-up dance music version that had a woman
breathing heavily at the start of the track.

    Thanks for trying though.

I am going to try a few more searches of tracks that were played
on that pirate radio station in 1997, to see if I can get my mystery
    track identified by association :)

Thanks for that, I've never heard of that outfit before,
    their work merits further investigation.

But what's the one from about 2 minutes that goes to the end?

It only gets going and the track ends :(

So typical of the old tapes I have - a great track that gets you going
    and the tape runs out!

    Hows it going lads

I was Underworlds gig there at EP and I'm dying to get the name of this track. I wouldn't know much Underworld stuff at all but this really got me going, I'm sure most of you will know it!

    Thanks in advance

I thought it was the one track from 2 minutes to the end???

    Not to worry:

From about 2 minutes to 4 minutes, it sounds like a sequence of
TB-808 patterns done over a steam-train like sound.

Great stuff whatever you call it ! :D

Might not be the right forum but I said I'll chance it here.

Anyone that has the Current TV channel (ch 183 on Sky) might have spotted a short promo they're running at the moment which has a montage of clips from their upcoming schedule of programmes. There is a really good electronic track in the background that I have to get my hands on. Has a bit of a Justice / Daft Punk sound but it ain't them. A friend of mine reckons its stock library music but I think its far too good to be that.

So I'm guessing there are a lot of DJs and electronic music experts here. If any of you have Current TV, you might turn to ch 183 on the 15 minute mark to try and catch the commercial and see if you recognise the track. Unfortunately I've googled the shit out of this and cannot find an answer or a link to a video.

Actually, just spotted a thread for finding the name of tunes - Mod can move this if its more suitable.

Bit vague this but I've a feeling someone will get it...

Trying to remember a tune from sometime in the 90's. It has a vocal sample that might be maybe some Amazon tribe thing? Or maybe Native American or a Pacific Island or something? The track has a really organic sound to it, it's a chilled out track. I think it might have been a minor hit at the time. It escapes me now and I'd love to hear it. It sounds like they sampled lots of organic, real life sounds and combined and looped them into an electronic sounding track. Vague recollections of a forest in the video, very possible the Amazon.

Actually I think the artists are pretty well known in electronic music... there's a 'C' in the name I think.... Cold Cut maybe?????

    Deep Forest maybe?

They did a whole load of that kind of stuff.

I was going to mention Deep Forest actually because the track I'm looking for sounds really similar to them, same kind of sound and style. Not it though but thanks.

    Found it!

    Amazing video and tune.

    This is it:

    Thanks lads

From Wikipedia: "a collaborative effort with Hextatic, Coldcut and Greenpeace. They approached Greenpeace asking for use of their stock footage of wildlife and logging operations and in return Greenpeace could use the finished project in their campaigns and presentations.

The first video was 1997’s Frog Jam, which created a rhythmic structure out of short clips of water dripping, frog leaping and tribal drumming and chanting. This was soon followed by Natural Rhythm and Timber. Natural Rhythm featured insects, birds and other wildlife as well as a tribesman playing a flute like instrument.

Each video employed increasingly more complex mixing and splicing techniques culminating with the award winning Timber. Its tone is more plaintively political, opening with majestic images of the sunset over a forest of immensely beautiful trees then quickly shifting with a clap of thunder to a telegraph button punching out the dots and dashes of a Morse code SOS distress call. Images of powerful circular saws, chopping axes, and huge, buzzing chainsaws soon follow. The picture then distorts and images of the indigenous animals appear to the singing of a mournful native woman.

The anti-deforestation message is quite clear even before the industrial machinery makes its appearance towards the end of the track. Timber won the award for Best Editing Video Musique in France in 1998 and appeared on Coldcut’s 1997 release Let Us Play!"

Fair play to your for searching yourself and posting the fruits of your
labours. All too often others expect you to do the leg work for them.

I remember this track now, the vocal is haunting.

In 2003 Erik Morillo used to be play this really funky house tune. Big Vocal track with black woman singing 'I wanna brush your yard, I wanna shake my broom...' (somethin like that anyway!)
