Hello.

I'm doing my first module (research methods) of a certificate in Psychology through distance learning at the University of Derby and will go on to do the master's next year. I'm moving to the UK from Spain next year to get work in something related to this area. Hoping to get a job as a teaching assistant with special needs children along with voluntary work in anything at all related to psychology to get some practice. I'm currently teaching English to immigrant adults on a voluntary basis but it's quite hard to get anything else without special training here, so the move has to be made.

I have no idea what area I'd like to get into but it's an area I've always had an interest in and if I can make a career out of it one way or another, I'll be very happy, I think.

I'm a student of Civil Engineering and very much interested in psychology. human psychology always amuses me. I've always wanted to learn to deduce peoples thinking just by looking at their faces. it's might be because i'm a huge fan of Sherlock holmes.

Me too! I'm always having to explain that my talents as a psychologist don't include mindreading!

It'd make my job a lot easier!

Seriously, paying attention to what people are saying, the words they use, their body language, and what they're NOT saying is where the psychology comes in.

Does anyone know where in Dublin would be good to go to gain clinical experience? I'm thinking of getting my doctorate in clinical psychology but so far my experience is heavily research based.

Hello! I'm a Psychotherapist and Clinical Hypnotherapist. I realise that Hypnotherapy is not tought in University in Ireland, so if anyone has questions has to Hypnotherapy, I am happy to give some direction in this regard.

I specialise in Anxiety (GAD, Performance, Social) and Personality Disorders (Mainly DID, though BPD on occasion), and Trauma (Childhood, PTSD).

There are some areas that I get involved where hypnotherapy has been found quite beneficial, such as:
- Bruxism
- Dental Phobia
- Dystonia
- Insomnia
- IBS

Spent most of life in California and London and pretty much settled down now in Dublin.

I look forward to networking and helping out where I can.

Hi, I have completed the Foundation course in Counseling and Psychotherapy at PCI and am considering continuing with this in few years, would love to specialize in Addiction studies.
I currently do hold another professional title that has nothing to do with Psychology or Psychotherapy and am working in another field, but would love to do this for myself, and for something I could be practicing on a side, or in later years. Not sure how this sounds but its true : ).

Close to finishing my second year of a three year undergrad. I work with adults with intellectual disabilities, and my interests include mental health, ID, and neuropsychology. I'm hoping to do my fyp on occupational stress in a health setting.

My name is Amy and I'm a final year BA psychology student. I'm hoping to go onto further study, and I'm especially interested in ABA and social psychology. I also have an interest in mental health and would really like to be involved with creating awareness or treating depersonalization in the future. I joined here to post a link to a questionnaire I've created as part of my final year project. Hi I'm Seán, though I prefer to be called Sryan :P (it's my stage name) and I'm a student currently in the Senior Cycle in secondary education. I may be a student but I give huge help to students whether it's primary school, Junior Cert or even Leaving Cert work. And get this, though I have huge problems myself and need a lot of counselling, people say I'm a great counselor, I know very confusing .

I have helped people with relationships, including my family. I have helped people get out of addictions. I have helped people with stress. I think you get the point, I have helped people with a lot of things. Anyway, there ya go, I introduced myself.
