    A 50* wedge, maybe?

Or, if you play like me - one of those telescopic golfball-retriever yolks! :)

Have the retriever, paid for itself many times over at this stage;)

Was thinking a wedge, but probably need to buy two wedges to get a more even gap between clubs, pw is 45, so maybe a 52 and 56. The thing is I don't have the existing 54 that long and really like it.

just to be doubly sure he can't delete this reference :p

my listing looks like this. Comments and recommendations gladly received.

Nike Ignite 460 degree, 10.5 loft. Sasquatch Diamana shaft (Mitsubushi Rayon S65)

3 wood - from my orig Colt Beginner set.

3 iron through PW - Nike Pro Combo - 3 years old I think (bought second hand)

SW - from Colt beginner set.

60 degree - Nike rusty thing.

    putter - Odyssey Sabertooth.

    Ball - whatever looks cleanest.

  • Subscribers Posts: 16,571 ✭✭✭✭copacetic

the pro combos are a nice club, but a little hard to hit. You could look out for a nice more forgiving set.

However if I was changing anything it'd be the 3 wood and maybe looking at a hybrid or 5 wood..

Driver - Nike SQ 9.5 deg w/ Grafalloy Blue Stiff Shaft
3 Wood - Cleveland Launcher 15 deg Standard Stiff Shaft
Driving Iron - Mizuno Fli-Hi II 21 deg Grafalloy Blue Stiff Shaft

    Irons - Nike Pro Combo 4 Iron-PW

GW -Nike TW 52 deg Extra Stiff Shaft
SW - Nike TW 56 deg Extra Stiff Shaft
LW - Mizuno Black Ox 60 deg Extra Stiff Shaft

Putter - Yes Tracy Putter 34 Inch and Taylormade Monza 34 Inch

    Handicap 2

I've gone back to my Launcher, I have Rescue Mid, but the 3 wood I like the lower flight I get with it and can hit it reasonably off the fairway.
I do have my bad days though with it and with that comes out my Fli-Hi which along with my short irons and wedges I trust with my life.

Espically love the Black Ox as it generates some major spin and with all 3 I can really attack the ball.

Yes putter is the perfect putter. When I'm no putting so well I use the Monza espically in this crappy weather where the greens are slow and bumpy. The alignment aid I find it much better than the 2 ball for as long as I remember.

Have recently joined a club, been given a handicap of 24 & have dumped the mix & match set of clubs (including actual wooden woods) that I had been hacking around with 3/4 times per year for the last 15 years or so.
Main focus was to put together a decent bag of clubs that would improve my game without having to break the bank by splashing out on the latest & most expensive gear.
In a year or so, depending on what level I am at, I can consider upgrading.

    Driver: €129 Callaway Hyper X - 10 Deg, Fujikura Fit-On, Reg. flex

3 Wood: €80 Wilson Staff Fybrid - 15 Deg, UST Proforce V2, Reg. flex

Utility: €80 Wilson Staff Fybrid FY Bridge - 19.5 Deg. (same shaft as 3W)

    4 - SW: €209 Mizuno MX-17 - Dynalite Gold R300 True Temper Steel

Putter: €125 Ping iSeries Anser 4

Once I figure out my average distances I will consider the need for a 5W & 3 iron replacement. I would also go for the Wilson Staff Fybrids for these.
I have used the FY bridge club 4 times now & hit the green 3 times with it. I am loving it.

I was having a lash at some of the clubs in Nevada Bobs where I used to work for year and a bit. Tried the Wilson Staff Fybrid, must say was suprised how it felt in my hands and the how I was striking the ball I took it home today, one of the demos now and will hit the range tommorow at my club.

Still though it'll find it hard to replace my lovely Mizuno Fli Hi II.

Mizuno Mx 17's are very good irons, but aren't all Mizuno clubs ;)

Have been meaning to stick this up for a while, but I never remember the makes of my woods, sand wedge or 2 iron; all of which I've picked up here and there over the last year or so.

    SW Bob Toski Target
irons (4-PW) Srixon I-601 (don't use the SW that came with the set as I really like the Bob Toski one)
2 iron Golden Ram Tour Grind
    5 wood Pro Select
    3 wood MDD Tour
Driver Ben Ross V5 (10.5 degree)
putter - Odyssey white hot XG #5

Here's what I use. Been meaning to post this up for a while.

My Driver, 3 wood and Hybrid are all Ping G10 with Grafalloy ProLaunch Red shafts. Driver is 9 degree and the Hybrid is 18 with a shaft that's 1/4 of an inch longer than standard.

3-P Taylor Made Tour Burner Irons with Project X Rifle shafts, upright and 1/2 an inch longer than standard.

Vokey Spin-Milled 54 and 60 degree wedges, standard lie.

    Odyssey Tour #1 putter.
