Started getting into lino cutting recently.
I got a math tutor to help me resit my GCSE maths, and she loves lilies, so as a gift I made her this card and a bunch of lilies.

I done this at home and had no press so had to hand burnish the black outline, and no ink except black so had to paint with water colour.

Just found this thread, gonna gleefully waste my morning starting from page one :D

    Love stuff in here.

We've done a fair bit of tie dyeing over the last few weeks. I used polycotton sheets and a few t shirts. The sheets are going to be used as wall hangings for decorations at our wedding reception. Heres the results -

Randomfriend, love your work. Dare I ask why you do them over 2 pages in a notebook as opposed to on one sheet?

Lino cut of a pheasant for a hunter friend of mine.

The book will hopefully be in an exhibition later in the year, I want to have the entire book read that way, I'm personally not a fan of having to flip a sketchbook around from page to page to see an image, and I felt 1 page is probably too small for full drawings, the sketchbooks only a5 sized!

New page! I'm having a bit of a mental block of where to go from here thou.. :pac:

My first real attempt at portrait drawing. I pick up a pencil and doodle probably twice a year and I am by no means any good at it.

But a few hours today looking at a picture online led me to sketch Tom Waits. He's big music inspiration for me.

Not perfect but I'm happy with it :)

Cheers Randomfriend. That sketchbook idea in an interesting one. Some good stuff you have in there. I dont have a website or blog im afraid but ive attached a few more pics here.

The 1st photo attached, I just completed half an hour ago. I might go back and fix up the "fosters" lettering in the background tomorrow, now that I look at it. Its painting number 249 in fact, since 1995. The picture of the Le mans car in the rain, I did way back in 1999, the last picture of the aeroplane I did back in 2003. Its pretty crummy resolution but its all I have on my laptop here. I remember taking that aeroplane photo on a disposable camera. : )

Great stuff, you really should think about making yourself some sort of outlet online be it a blog or something, the stuff you make deserves to be seen more :)

Hi all, love coming here and seeing the great selection of art and crafts!

Haven't posted for a while, but finished this recently and wanted to send it out into the great www :) It's a Lilac-breasted Roller bird and the ref photo is by John Williams (copyright released). It was for a competition run by the Coloured Pencil Magazine but I completely missed the deadline. I decided to finish it anyway. It's Faber Castell pencils on Winsor & Newton paper, 39.5 cm x 26 cm.

My photography skills are a bit lacking so it's a bit blurry looking here lol
