Mmm..except they didn't suspect he was carrying a bomb. Generally, running god knows how many volts through high explosive isn't a good idea.

While there are certain things which are unclear about the whole chain of events, we do know certain facts; that a suspected suicide bomber got on a bus (full of people) and then got on a train (full of people) before being killed. Was it the Met somehow trying to make a justification for the actions of its officers?

Pictures of nail bombs have now been published. I think this is just to keep the public scared sh1tless and make it easier to control.

As an aside they were the most amateurish attempts at nail bombs I have ever come across.

Thankfully I never have had any, but like a lot of people I have seen pictures on the news over the years of captured or unexploded devices which looked a lot more sophisticated.

"An unamed Tube station" indeed. I highly doubt that TfL, one of the most PC organisations in the UK would allow that sign to be up in a station.

The gas thing is I have not seen anyone question the police over this very obvious fact... You shoot a man because he has the potential to be a bomber... but you let him on a bus? and then into the tube station?

I do not know all the facts (and neither do you I think), however it might have been as "simple" as that they did not have a clear shot at him..
The media and tree-hugging crowd would ahve been falling over themselves with sheer trouser wetting glee if the cops had started blasting away in a crowded environment and several innocent bystanders were hit....
