Renault Caravelles and Florides aren't merely the same car marketed under different monikers.
There are distinct differences between them, which enable the sophisticated anorak to tell them apart at first glance.
The easiest one of them to spot is that all Caravelles lack the fake air intake trim most Florides (except the Floride S models) sport ahead of the rear wheel arches.
Another is that the Caravelles have their name spelled out in individual chrome letters across the front panel, where the Florides only have a medallion in the centre. The front indicators are different as well. Florides' are round, Caravelles' not.

From the Bray show yesterday, not loads of photos as I left early when most cars hadn't yet arrived.

Spoken like a true sophisticated anorak ,normally i'd hope to achieve that standard but on this occasion I bow to your superior anorak-ness :cool:

That 120Y is particularily well executed
Is that a Hillman husky imp based? If so could you pm me? Thx

A few photos from my cycle from Porto to Santiago. Not got loads of photos, car spotting was the last thing on my mind doing 70-100kms a day :P Missed out on some great spots too, out of pure exhaustion and not being quick enough with the camera! Anyway, these are probably the best, I have loads of 90s stuff too, I may upload them another time.

Gas the emigrants 'rosy' view of 'the ol' sod' - Denny's have gone Do-More, all their customers died of clogged fatty arteries from those 10% pork/80% fat sausages :o We all go to IKEA restaurant for healthy Smörgåsbord and smoked Reindeer with lingonberry jam - yum yum and healthy too :P
    (Actually Lidl do lovely 80% pork sausages now - F**k Denny's !)

You have to get with the plan Do-more, forget Irish food/thinking/weather and embrace Sweden / Abba / Saab (Abba/Saab - what's with the 'bb' 'aa' :p ) /Suun /Snno(w)

Health car culture and tax system - what more could an emigrant want

I'll be living about 10 mins from all that next year. I suppose when trying to decide your future and education, having a MASSIVE car show nearby is a rather big influence for the petrol head student :D

I said "decent sausages" not lumps of grizzle!

Lots of the British here make there own sausages as they can get pre-prepared packs of spices/rusk in all the different varieties of British sausages just to add local minced pork. Various recipes for "Irish sausages" on the internet but that's all a bit much of an effort, if there is someone in the trade it might be a good sideline marketing "Make your own Irish sausages, just add minced pork" kits for all the plastic paddies.

Old Rover TZH *** (snapped in mirror as I couldn't slow down to get proper shot. Q tho' - it's a Rover P4 75 'Cyclops' that ended production in 1954, but a TZH *** reg is 65/66 so maybe it was brought here on change of residence in 65/66 ? ), New T2 Bay camper, 924 parked in Ballymun

    Hi all

Shooting a short film set in the 1970s and we are looking for some 1970s cars. One we need is for the main scene which involves driving down a road into estate and parking up. An actor would drive the car and there would be two children sitting in the back. We would love some other cars to be the passing traffic or parked.

Filming is this Sunday, northside Dublin, from 8.30am to 12.30pm. This is a low budget short so we have no money available but hope some of you might consider obliging us. We will send on a copy of the film which will contain the shot of your car when finished. Email me if interested...you can find my email on my site which is my name (dot) com.
